    big mike this album is incredible. It’s brimming with emotion, violence, sexuality, poetry, and feeling. It’s an experience that is unlike almost anything else. Sorry that it’s not Metallica’s first four albums again and again and again like most “fans” seem to somehow want. Try to broaden your mind and feel the music out. This album is amazing.

    @@malcus8485 I agree 100%. This is Lou facing death head on with a fearlessness and humour that only he could pull off. He faces it head on and will be missed. The only issue I have is the production. This needed a push that someone like Trent Reznor would have done justice. I feel like Metallica just did whatever Lou wanted. They needed a middle man and someone to cut the fat. He clearly looks a bit weak and I'll yet he's still on stage doing what he loves.

    Kirk: "That song, I don’t really want to pinpoint exactly what the song is about, because it’s one of those songs that could mean a million different things to a million different people, but what it really meant to me, it had everything to do with the fact that my relationship with my father was just kind of, you know, very emotional. And that’s really what hit it. It pretty much touched up on my own relationship with my own father. It’s a hard one for me to talk about. Even now, bro." The lyrics that apparently got to the two metal men were "Say hello to junior dad/The greatest disappointment/Age withered and changed him." Hammett added, "[Reed] managed to take out both guitar players in METALLICA in one fell swoop, with his amazing poetic lyrics." James Hetfield's father abandoned his family when James was just 13, an experience that the singer/guitarist has spoken about at length in a new documentary called "Absent".

    its a respect thing,metallica paying homage to 1 of the greatest talents ever ,but the styles clash,lou sings in a way thats like he having a conversation with you,and james sings in a more melodic style,both are truly unique,its not always gonna work but when it does its great,my own opinion is that lou is not on his game 100 % they should of gotten together sooner

    So here's the million dollar question I've always wanted to know from all you Metallica fans: Do you think Lou Reed was "cool" enough to play with Metallica, or was Metallica "cool" enough to play with Lou Reed?

  • @B---tw3kh

    @B---tw3kh

    Is it too much to say both. Lou is literally the most metal dude to never "play" metal, Metallica are one of the most experimental metal bands in terms of exploring genres and styles. They were basically made to work together at some point in time

I'm glad I did. This is historic and will be appreciated more down the line. Guaranteed. and was that Lou soloing at 11:00?

    I like that album because I learned to listen to it from a "Lou Reed perspective". Nothing against Metallica,but they are the needed background band for the higher purpose! It's only functioning that way.But then it's great - and Metallica can be proud of it. Don't cry,Kirk (it'll pay off)! Anyway,what is a "Lou Reed perspective"??? (-;

    Rock music is not meant to be perfect modern trickery like autotune beat detecive etc knocks all the life out of a song and turns it into a facade. Too many people rely to use moden tricks to quantise the music. If a new young band went into sam phillips sun studio they would have a heart attack because they only have a one track mono recorder if you want to change the sound in that environment you move the microphone

    Actually, this is not bad at all. I don't understand fuzz around this album. This is pure art and thank you Metallica for involment in this project. You proved many, many times that you are the big band. You made greatest metal albums with your first four albums. you aged well with two brilliant albums Load and Reload. You have shown how to pay tribute to role models with Garage Inc. You proved that you are gods of music with S&M. Who ever has to say negative about you, that one is vicious. Damn, after all I said I can only conclude that you are the greatest band ever existed.
