Copied it on cassette and listened to the tape over and over on my yellow Sony Walkman while riding the subway or crossing Manhatten by foot. Very personal memories though I missed Lou performing live but saw Richie Havens and Joan Baez playing live in Central Park. Great time. What an awesome album. Spot on, Eno & Lou's production work is impeccable etc. It's all just absolutely perfect! Great albums stand the test of time & Lou Reed can be very proud of how well this work has held up. Dirty Blvd. was written & performed to perfection for the time & space it was created in, but it sounds almost just as on point today & still could in another decade. My favorite cut has always been "There is no time" it just rocks ass but the damndest thing of all is if I close my eyes to listen to it now, 40 plus years later & you were to tell me it just dropped last week, I'd believe you 100! Surely this song was written for this very moment in time, after the rough couple of years us lucky ones have lived through & still more seemingly treacherous times with hard, monumental & potentially dangerous choices ahead? There is no time is the damn theme song for April 1 2022!!! I am glad that Lou didn't have to see all of it though...

In terms of pure, unfiltered, raw, rough around the edges, in your face, keep the bells and whistles at home and if you don’t like it shove it RocknRoll…it don’t get any better than Lou Reed’s New York (and you can put that in your pipe and SMOKE IT!).

Good one! And thanks for the new word - sure beats the original!
He's lyrics are so realistic and humourus in parts and all of the rest of the human emotional spectrum.. Delivery is spot on.. 😁
There is no time. He knew already then what is happening wright now in the whole world and especially in the US.
Słucham Lou Reeda płyty "New York" Kocham Cię jak nigdy dotąd. Coś się zmieniło bez wątpienia...
Such a great album.
I had the pleasure of meeting Lou in person. It gives me despair knowing that I will never see him live again, Rip Lou.

Quando quero saber como vai as ruas de NY, escuto o Lou. Minha crônica mais sincera das ruas.
This live session actually sounds more coherent and polished than the "New York" album. Great live recording!

My god youre an ass. Failed miserably😅
In terms of pure, unfiltered, raw, rough around the edges, in your face, keep the bells and whistles at home and if you don’t like it shove it RocknRoll…it don’t get any better than Lou Reed’s New York (and you can put that in your pipe and SMOKE IT!). Oh ya, and that’s just the music. As for the lyrics, eat your heart out Bob Dylan! Only thing I can think of to improve this RocknRoll classic; more cowbell. HA! 😉🥳😎
Que c'est bon !
i miss you a lot, man ¡¡¡¡
Lou Ree 4 ever The true naked rock
Lembro-me que a cassete VHS que tinha este concerto gravado estava completamente gasta.
❤
This album is a classic , i saw lou once live in Paris, i think it was parc du prince , not sure, saw him In ngland also but as velvert undergound, what a loss to usall
I think this was recorded in Montreal. If so I'm at the front somewhere. I miss Lou
Kaptain I just bought the New York Deluxe. I listened to the live show, Dime Store Mystery isn't complete. It fades away. Has anyone else have a copy like that. I like it. I feel like they're playing in my appartment! I bought the video of the Montreal, CA. Some of the songs are better, like Endless Cycle, it's longer. So Dime Store Mystery fades, can anyone help me? Right on Nikos Cuatro.
Split up with ex girl fiend-two year legal battle to recover my rightful half of realestate etc-very debilitating(no winners?)-SO-MY Ship comes in-I'm heading to work to put in my long overdue notice(I DONT QUIT-I MOVE FORWARD)-TOOK a detor to HMV record store-LOU FU..KING REED-"'NEW YORK"-PUT IT ON MY walkman-and head to work?felt like Ihad the world by the balls!!!Amazing record-very powerful-lol Timothy

Great, but where are the rest of the tracks?
👍👌👏👏👏
Rob Wasserman holding down the bottom, Lou says, "Play it low so they can feel ya"
Great quality but wheres the rest? it stops at "Sick of You", Man, 2 of his best songs "Good evening Mr Waldheim" and "Dimestore Mystery" are missing. Damn!
Lou is our American Ray Davies
21:40 great solo by lou
