This is Si Satchanalai Historical Park is located on the bank of the Yom River..(it's not Ping River) and about 55 Kilometers from Sukhothai Historical Park Si Satchanalai, together with the Historical Parks of its sister cities Sukhothai and Kamphaeng Phet is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Si Satchanalai was a vassal town of Sukhothai, the capital of the empire located about 85 kilometers to the South.

I’m going back and rewatching something of my favourites from your journey. This is one of the ones that I loved most, it was moving and made me cry. Leaving Thailand at the start of the pandemic will always go down as one of the biggest mistakes I ever made, and I miss Thailand deeply. I took a solo trip to sukhotai at the end of 2019 and recognise several of the spots in this video. The park was totally empty even pre pandemic and I enjoyed the solitude, cycling around these ancient monuments. Thanks as always Paddy, you’re my biggest KZread inspiration and I only started this channel after watching yours and deciding to give it a go myself. Love always

I kept thinking would a complete stranger where I'm from in Scotland even think to give a stray foreigner a shot of a moped for a few days?... No chance 😆. But sometimes we get caught up in our own world and our own worries (and as viewers god knows we jump to our own conclusions at the speed of light!). good on you for insisting the guy took some spondooliks and for addressing it paddy. on to the next adventure 🙂

Hi Paddy, I am following your channel since some weeks and I like your way showing us the nice places in Thailand. I have been to Sukhothai just before Covid on my cycle trip through North Thailand. It looks to me that you were not really in the centrer of the park as you cannot miss the famous buddha statue. He is a little bit hidden in a cheddar right in the centre of the park. Talking about the missing tourist crowds I can just tell you to enjoy the time right now but hopefully the tourist find their way back to Thailand because many people live of this industrie and are deeply struggling as you know as well. I am looking forward to your next video of Lampang and the Sky temple! I wish you good luck on your trip and take care of "Dreamy"

That Khao Mon gai or whatever you call it looked absolutely friggin delicious! The quality of these cheap eats is off the charts in Thailand, you just eat so well with such fresh good quality ingredients for so little money - absolutely unbeatable. As for the mystery of Dreamy's basket detachment - you don't think Dreamy claterring to the ground at the end of the monkey climb video might have something to do with that? 😄

My girlfriend and I go madness about beauty, friendly people and experiences you can have just walking, seeing, and talking with locals. In Thailand was more tourist, but I have an hour free when my girl went to a massage, I did the same, Ioved it, and I want go back and do more, like you do 😁

Nothing like going on a bicycle ride through the old ruins of Sukhothai and taking in the views and having the time to ponder and reflect on random things. I remember the past episodes when Dreamy broke down and you got help from the local, who let you borrow his old bike. As one of the Thai commenters mentioned, he didn't take offense to your complaints about the old worn down bike. He said that westerners often speak without a filter, unaware at times that they may be too direct and opposing. I think many thought the same, which is why they commented about it. I think realizing and having awareness of those moments of cultural differences only helps you grow as a traveler. Cool to see that you commented on it and gave your take on things.

i was surprised too, your friend’s mom called her motor bike back. and thought it was funny. 😆 my thought at the time you said the motor bike provided, was not doing well going up hills, was “don’t look the gift horse in the mouth.” this bicycle seems to do well only on flat lands . lol 😝

Like the bicycle ramble/rant. Showed you're a good man by acknowledging the borrowed bike comments were a bit much. Also good to hear you wired the money. Am sure you've left a good impression of foreigners with that guy, the same way he's left a great impression of Thais with all those who watched the video.

excellent video. being a traveller in thailand during this period is certainly a privilege, but thailand government should really appreciate the amount of PR vloggers like you and chris parker, cb media, ken abroad and more are doing for thailand tourism and get some kind of reward, honestly. Cant imagine the thousand that now are ready to spend big money in thailand after watching all these videos during c*vid.

Gotta go to the main part of Sukhothai mate. This lovely park is in the north of the province. You'll find the ruin you're looking for in the park near the provincial capital. Love you work!

I knew you'd catch shit on the remark about the loaner. Figured I'd see how it played out, no need for me to pile on. Thank you sir for addressing, and not skirting, the issue.

You were looking for Wat Si Chum I believe. I love that temple, it is full of interesting and very meaningful symbology to me if I told you what I read out of it you'd probably think I'm crazy, but I think it is a brilliantly clever, truly incredible yet very understated piece of work detailing spiritual information. Indeed the entire area is full of it. I actually felt like I was going home in Sukkothai and loved the entire place and felt like I was slipping back in time as I wandered around. I was there with my Thai wife a few years ago for Loy Krathong and it was wonderful. Unfortunately she passed away soon after that trip and the memories of that place are very very precious to me

I was there in 2019. Almost also alone in that park. So do not think it is the most visited place in Thailand. But it is a nice place. Think many tourist stay in the main town nearby and not at the historical park.

Nice Forrest and park for a bike ride. I’ve been wondering what it looks like in that park. I’m planning to travel all of the north with car one day.

Hi Paddy, given how much you love Chicken on Rice, pls come further down south to Singapore to overdose on our "Chicken Rice", which is pretty much a variant of the Thai one. Even Anthony Bourdain loves Singapore chicken rice.

Paddy, If we were all so perfect when we are making conversation life would be boring. You are allowed to voice your opinion. The bike riding around makes me want to ride again myself. Continue on your journey always looks fun and exciting.

I've spent some time at Sukhothai. The last time I stayed with a local family for a month. I was able to visit lots of temples guided by a young local on his motorbike. I have absolutely no idea where you were in the video. I don't recognise any of it. To see the main temples you need to be inside the old city walls, and I don't think you were.
