Phrae was a real suprise for my wife and I. Not only was it beautiful but the Thai people we met were super friendly.

Really beautiful Lanna-Burma temple.

The song at the end is one of my favorite songs. It has a northern thai feel to it.

Phrae is certainly an interesting town and province. Check out the Seri Thai museum in town and learn more about the thai resistance during the second world war, and also the second world war history of Thailand. Also check out all the old wooden houses, (teak wood houses) in the town. The teak trade was significant in Phrae and Lampang area around 1900.

23:44 Yellow is the color of Monday. Because the late and the current king both born in Monday, so their flags are yellow. And the logic goes for all the royal members. Sunday is red. Monday is yellow. Tuesday is pink. Wednesday is green. Thursday is orange . Friday is blue. Saturday is purple.

That leaning buddha temple in Phrae is amazing. I was there the other day too, and I also noticed the temple front doors seemed to be closed. But did you check the other road to the right, if you go up there you’ll get to the heart of the temple and see the most amazing insides of it, including the golden spiked pagodas

Hi Paddy, I love all of the segments that you have produced. Thanks for your hard work. The recent province that you have visited is actually called Phaer (according to the Thai writing) not Phrae. I thought I let you know. Keep doing a great job. Cheers.

You Did Such a wonderful job capturing this province. My wife is from there and i lived there teaching school for a while. This really made me homesick for Phrae. The golden rock temple was under construction when I visited it last. They have done a remarkable job. Thank you again for sharing this.

Yellow is the king's color because yellow is the color for Monday. It just that both the current king and the late king were born on Monday so they use the same color. The color for each day will be red for Sunday, Yellow for Monday, Pink for Tuesday, Green for Wednesday, Orange for Thursday, Blue for Friday and Purple for Saturday. You may notice that the color for the king's mother is blue because she was born on Friday and also the color for princess Mahachakri Sirindhorn is Purple because she was born on Saturday.

I needed to do some research because I was told that most of the yellow flags around temples are buddist flags and they have a circular shape in the middle, however, if they have a crown type image, then they represent royalty. I know that the blue flags are always related to royalty :)
