Philippines is a very poor and underdeveloped country. According to the world bank, 37% of the population still live in slums as of 2020. The national dish of the Philippines is called "pagpag." It's made by refrying chicken bones that have been collected from the trash. Since the majority of the people in the Philippines live in slums and lack education, a lot of them have to find discarded bones in restaurants, refry them, and eat them.
