Nokis are actually in Mario Kart 8. They're background characters in both the Water Park and Coconut Mall tracks Chunky Kong also recently physically appeared in the new Mario movie much to everyone that spotted him's surprise Xp

Ukikis hand out the cherries in that one 2v2 minigame where you throw the cherry to your teammate and they have to catch it and throw it in the basket

I really wish they’d bring back Tumble. Why? So Toad can be playable in Mario Party games again. Besides, Tumble fits more as a host because he fits the general gist of Mario Party to a tee.

Only reason Toad wasn't playable in MP Superstars was cuz the game was basically a remake of Mario party 1-3 but still he needs to be brought back and the sun and moon could easily be back

I guess it would be cool if MP had an exclusive character. Some thought Tumble was too cute/kiddy though. Granted MP has always been a bit more kiddy and carefree then most Mario games. (Super Mario RPG and Odyssey have some edgy stuff in them.)

I would have said Spike from Wrecking Crew was the most obscure Mario character, but then he had a surprisingly huge role in the movie.

Thing to note about Donkey Kong Jr.: while the timeline seems to differ depending on the era of Nintendo, the main consensus nowadays is that Donkey Kong from the arcade game has grown older to be the character who is now called Cranky Kong. Cranky Kong's son is Donkey Kong Jr., who is actually the father of the present Donkey Kong. So had Donkey Kong Jr. been present in Double Dash, he would have been a child racing along with the adult version of his son. Weird.

Hey, fun fact! MC Ballyhoo's design makes a lot more sense when you realize he was designed by Masanori Sato, the character artist for the Mario & Luigi series!

People have said that Jumpman in the original Mario games is Mario’s father, and Pauline(from that game, and not the current Pauline) is his mother. And they have also said that Donkey Kong Jr from those games grows up to be present day Donkey Kong

Okay, that was an interesting video. I just have some notes: • Baby Wario appeared again in the mobile game Dr. Mario World. • Like everyone else has said, the Noki appear in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe in the background of Coconut Mall. • I want the human golf and tennis characters characters back. It's been said that Azalea from Mario Golf Toadstool Tour GBA is related to Daisy in some way. • The story with DK Jr. is that he's the son of the original Donkey Kong from the NES and Arcade games (Cranky Kong). Other sources say that the current DK (Donkey Kong Country onward) is DK Jr.'s son, making him Cranky Kong's grandson. Honestly, it's complicated, and either Nintendo or Rare has to clear it up for us. • Super Team was a team built by Bowser to obliterate Mario and the other captains and teams. Probably revenge for not making him playable and essentially making him an item to use in-game.

Aside from the manual (for SMB1) mentioning _both_ of Peach's parents, the Valiant comic book series depicts Peach's father

Wart actually might be a dream creature since the only other time he is seen is in the Legend of Zelda link’s awakening he appears this time as mamu a frog idol of sorts but uses the same design as wart. he teaches you the frog song of soul which can bring alive long dead things. But oddly enough it’s later revealed link’s awakening is a dream link is sharing with the wind fish meaning the only times wart appears is in dreams hence me leading to believe he is a dream creature

0:56 Fun fact, this game is canonically a stage play. So for all we know, the kings are in reality just actors playing a role.

Fun fact, Cranky Kong is the original Donkey Kong from the Arcade games. So technically Yoshi’s Island DS isn’t canon, at least in DKC lore. Since Mario is in the original DK Arcade game. How I would make both YIDS and the DKC lore canon to Mario lore, is to just establish that Cranky was still the original DK. But Gorillas in the Marioverse look young until they hit an age where their body starts to rapidly weaken as if they were rapidly aging. Which is what happened to Cranky at some point during the early SMB games and prior to DKC. Maybe establish that Cranky also had two children or that you don’t have to be a biological father/mother for a stork to bring you a baby. Allowing DKC’s DK to be delivered after Mario. And maybe at some age DK would get grand children from a stork. Establishing “grand child” to not have the exact same definitions as us. Or again, establish Cranky having a child before DK Jr.. And that child is what led to the stork delivering Baby DK. At some point, the first child disappears as DKC’s DK grew up. While DK Jr. was still hanging around. And maybe after the first Mario Kart, DK Jr. decided to move away to have his own adventures. Leaving just Og DK and DKC’s DK. Also, around the time the Donkey Kong trilogy on Arcade and the GB game took place, is when Mario vs. Donkey Kong took place.

I remember the Noki's. Outside Noki Bay, they appeared in, Gelato Beach, Pinna Park, and Sierna Beach. The old man noki is tied to one of the biggest Super Mario Sunshine mysteries, the book. His grandson is memorable by association, and the momma and baby noki are cute. There's also another raccoon appears in Noki Bay.

The Nokis aren’t in just one level! They appear in Pinna Park, Gelato Beach, Sirena Beach and Noki bay! And outside of Mario Sunshine they have an appearance in Mario Kart 8 in the background~. And these raccoons are in the Shop, yes, but also is one of them in Noki bay selling boots. =)

Wart is a peculiar case, as Mario 2 is just a reskin of a japanese only game called doki doki panic technically NONE of the enemies there are mario games persay, but part of the doki doki panic pantheon, birdo and shyguys were IMPLEMENTED into the mario universe later on, but they were not mario characters in the beggining.

- Could the "Super Team" from "Mario Strikers" actually be from the reality of "Sonic the Hedgehog"? could they have been built by Dr. Eggman? - How many licks _does_ it take to get to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie pop? The world may never know...

About Ukiki, it's weird that the monkey hat thief doesn't return when Klepto, the vulture hat thief that was also first seen in Mario 64, made a comeback in Mario Odyssey

Dk jr is actually the son of Cranky Kong. Cranky was the original Donkey Kong in the original Donkey Kong game back when Mario was saving Pauline before Peach.

Unlike most one-off characters, DK Jr as well as original DK are not in current Donkey Kong Country entirely because of the canon conflict, much likey technically Mario and the original Jumpman only shares the same character spirit but not entirely one individual.

I would argue other forgettable characters are firebrand and thunderhand, they are like Brighton and twila's bean versions and are the ones who teach fire hand and thunder hand to mario and luigi, they might not be as forgettable, but give it 10 more years and no one will remember
