As a born and bred Texan, I would describe Texas as being part of the South, but not the Deep South. "Texas is a whole other country" is a expression often heard. I worked/lived in six different countries for almost 25 years and when asked where I was from it was always Texas; I´m a Texan who happens to be a US citizen. I have never encountered anyone throughout the world who did not know Texas. Our reputation proceeds us and it sounds you will become another proud Texan.

Born and bred Texan here. We're usually referred to as the southern plains, but mostly texas is just texas. We are a part of the south, but were not like the others, we really are like a whole other country lol. Can't wait to see yalls move here.

Hi! It's fun to be the first comment. I always enjoy Lawrence, just as you do. I wonder how much you will notice about yourself after a year or two.Looking forward to two new Texans soon!🤠

Don't know when Laurence taped this this video but he had not raked the autumn leaves. The city picks them up in November from piles in front of your house. By now, almost mid-December, a lot of places have already had snow. Hmmmm, leaves and snow just don't mix.

So funny you mentioned milo sweet tea, i just bought 2 gallons of it today at Walmart. We are having my wifes family for Christmas and that's what we will be drinking in red solo cups. But i thought Milo's was an alabama thing, i guess not. Congratulations on your move to the US of A.

I don't drink Milo's anything because it is made with brown sugar. I do drink Gold Peak sugar free iced tea, which I love.

When I left in Texas Katie was a very nice area and so was Postoak. I hope you like living there. It gets very humid and hot but that’s all I can say against it except for the guns.

Heathy or unhealthy eating is a personal choice. No one is making you eat fast food every day. I find these conversations about food choices to be really stupid. Do what's best for you and let other's do the same.

I like Lawrence, but even after all the time he's been here, he seems to have a lot of misconceptions about America- I get the feeling he doesn't really get much beyond his bubble, so bases his view of America on what's right around him. I do get the feeling that you actually know America better than him, before you've even moved here, so I think you'll fit in very quickly.

I agree. He's still amazed at medium-sized refrigerators and coffee makers and doesn't have a garbage disposal. I hope he had the furnace checked before the cold weather. The drying of the carpet after a flood in the basement, gave me the willies.

His garage door has a big gap on the floor. That's not good in cold weather and snow and the rest of the year, bad for insects, snakes and squirrels.

Texas is Texas. We aren't the South... I was born and raised in this beautiful state. I love Texas. BTW... stop with the WalMart crap. Texans shop at H.E.B. They are less expensive and their community mindedness is above & beyond anyone. You'll see when you get here.
