It's great to see Mark be so easy going. Most people in hollywood today would not dare do such a thing!I loved this show to death as a kid!!Still do!

Mark Goodard sure looked like he didn't want to be there.

This was so good, I loved the shot where Mark was supposed to be shaken left and right. I wonder how many takes he laughed at the good memories.

That Don IS Mark Goddard. If you view the "making of" episode, you will note the footage we used is from an appearance he made in 2005 at wonderfest. We used footage we had, and made up new stuff. Thanks for your comments!

Actually, he did do the "J-2 rock and roll" for this video. At the time, Bill did not know just what he would use that footage for. Bill asked Mark if he could shoot it, and Mark said "sure". He also gave written permission to use his name and likeness on our newest J-2. Very gracious man for his many fans....

There was an episide where they located earth and they were going to head back home but Dr. Smith did something to foul that up and they ended up changing course and remained lost in space.

@screamingsamurai Actually, the video was made by Bill Hedges....he was at wonderfest a few years ago with Mark Goddard and Bob May as guests...Bill asked Mark if he could shoot some footage of him doing various things, and Mark agreed. Bill then edited the video with the scenes. Mark was very happy to oblige. He is a gratious person and loves his fans.

You got that right! I like these outfits they wore on the tv show better! I even prefer this model of Jupiter 2 and the robot.

If I had a dollar for every time Don belly-landed the ship or flew it into a meteor swarm...

Opportunity LOST. What should have happened?? Major Don West gets the Jupiter 2 back to Earth, where it lands upon a deserted island in the Pacific Ocean. Where they are met by 7 stranded castaways. I can here the Robot now. "Warning!! Warning!! Warning!! Gilligan approaching!! Then, Gilligan sneaks aboard the Jupiter 2 and then??. In the very last scene of the program, as well as the series, the Jupiter 2 takes off. Leaving the Space Family Robinson stranded with the 7 stranded castaways.

The alternate voice for the robot sounds like Doctor Evil.

In the movies defense I will have to say it kept the premise and spirit of the original far better than any remake since. Especially Battlestar Galactica which may as well have been named something different.

Actually, the official verdict from his own interview said that he wanted to play Smith, since he created the character, and they refused, so he refused a cameo invitation.
