LOST IN SPACE (1965-1968) Cast THEN and NOW🌟Who Else Survives After 58 Years?
"Lost in Space" is a science fiction adventure film released in 1965, directed by Stephen Hopkins. The movie takes inspiration from the popular American television series of the same name, which aired from 1965 to 1968. Set in the futuristic year of 1997, "Lost in Space" follows the Robinson family as they embark on a mission to colonize a distant planet known as Alpha Prime. However, their spacecraft, the Jupiter 2, veers off course due to the sabotage efforts of the treacherous Dr. Zachary Smith.

@@navyspook79 I absolutely love the man he was brilliant on the show, he was never a superstar but I would have given anything to have met him before he left. I have all three seasons of lost in space and still watch him. I heard once that they picked Guy Williams and June Lockhart so the show would be a success, but the last two seasons were written entirely for Jonathan Harris,Bill Mumy and the robot once they figured it was the three of them the people actually wanted to see. Just writing this I got a big smile thinking of some of his priceless expressions.
The right group of actors made the Television show shine. LOST IN SPACE.

The robot was my favorite character. I was born in 1965 and watched the show growing up. My father was the advertising manager at the Boston channel that aired "Lost in Space" during that time and I had the privilege to view the robot "costume" at the station after an event ; The "head " unit was removed and someone actually lowered my tiny body (I was about six years old) into the inside of it so that I could get a look around. It was disappointing; because I suddenly understood that it was just an empty shell. But at the same time I understood all of the magic tricks I had ever seen on TV were just "slight of lens" ,cleverly conducted to fool us all. I will never forget that as long as I live.

I watched Lost in Space as a rugrat when it was in first run, and continued to watch it in reruns all through childhood. My favorite show as a kid. I loved Robot and Dr. Smith, and teared up when I heard Jonathan Harris died. It was like losing an uncle.
RIP Mark Goddard 🙏🏼🌹
LOST IN SPACE was my favorite show. In the summer 1968, at the invitation of Bill Mumy, I visited the set. As I recall, it was the episode where they return to 1930s Earth. Billy was there and visited with me until a crew member called out "Little Billy get in your silver suit" and he was off. Later he was goofing around between takes. Dr. Smith (Johnathan Harris) was there and gave me a friendly Dr. Smith "Hello". Lastly Major West was there, cooling off under a trailer. Sadly, I had forgotten my camera, so I just have memories - but what memories!
Dr.Smith without a doubt! I loved his interactions with the Robot.👏🏾
Back then as a teenager, I had a crush on Angela Cartwright who played Penny.
I LIKED Will Robinson. glad TO KNOW Billy Mumy IS FINE!
Jonathan Harris was so talented. He had many serious roles in movies, yet he pulled off the crazy Dr. Smith to perfection. In the very first episode he plays a serious character and is working as a double agent, before becoming trapped on the J2. Same for Billy Mummy. He did a ton of work as a child actor and played his roles so well.

Great memories of an iconic show. Jonathan Harris said in one of the documentaries made about the show, that originally his character was a dark, sinister stow away spy. He made the suggestion that the character should be the one we loved, and this really was one of the big factors in the show's success. His interactions with the Robot were priceless.

When I was a kid in Rochester, NY in the 60s, my Aunt Lil had an uncanny resemblance to June Lockhart and all of us kids called her Aunt June. One Halloween, she made her spacesuit costume in silver/red lame with space lasers & the whole bit. Unbelievably realistic. Before we went to a church party, we stopped in the local grocery store (Loblaws) to pick up some candy and everyone in the store kept calling her "Ms. Lockhart". She passed away in 2022 at 90.
