Lost in Irvingland: The War of the Robots - Lost In Space Season 1 Episode 20
Ойын-сауық
Will has found a deactivated robot, or robotoid, as his robot insists on calling it. When he repairs it and gets it running, it seems far superior to the environmental control robot. But robotoids have free will, and don't necessarily have to follow orders. This one in particular has an insidious plot in mind for the family that restored him. Robbie the Robot guest stars.

One of my favorite episodes since it got two of my favorite robots in it. Both designed by the same person.
Who noticed the Day the Earth Stood Still theme music?

Yes. Bernard Herman. Apparently, He sold his rights, and the music was owned by Fox Studios, (in other words, free). It was used in the unaired pilot, and pops up occasionally in the series.

A robot with free choice! That's how you get Skynet ....or Data from ST:TNG!
William Brambley was the uncredited voice of The Robotoid. He was heard earlier in the series as "Mr. Nobody". Two years laster, he wound up on Star Trek as the Policeman who confront Kirk and Spock in "City On The Edge Of Forever" His most recognizable role is perhaps Officer Krupke in both the Brodway and screen versions of "West Side Story"
Robby the Robot also guest starred in the movie Gremlins in 1984, in addition to many other appearances,

He became a sci-fi phenomenon in his own right.
At around 6:00 Robbie talking to the weird mask guy; the mask guy says; "It has been many decades since we left the planet", why did they need a homing signal to find it again? Did they forget where it was? if I was Robbie I would be more upset with the masked guy as he left him to rot on the planet for many decades. That is unless the masked guy's species is so inept that they are incapable of finding their was around the universe.
I've always noticed Robbie the robot and how it has a overhead camshaft with rocker arm switches . And the pinball machine flippers on top
Great kid ep. I was a great kid... once.
Robot: You forget that a robot has no heart. Irving: Is there a robot equivalent of Zoloft? Dorothy: Why don’t you come with me to the Emerald City?
14:13 "you have returned, Mr. Robinson. Robot loves you more than you could know. Whoa.... Whoa... Whoa...."

A full anyslis of one lost episode. Interesting. Ive seen RLM due best of eps of TNG but this is cool.
Robbie was on Mork and Mindy, voiced by Roddy McDowall.
The spooky music made lis😊😊😊😊😊😊
17:11 The Cosmic Radiation gauge is helpfully labelled "Cosmic Radiation." For some reason, that reminds me of the scene in "Airplane!" where the one air traffic controlled was told to "check the radar range."

Show was pretty cool kids love robots and back then robots were something new and dr Smith was a all time great character even though he was a sniveling cowards.the music was good and pretty spooky.
at 12:15 you see that Don had something in his right hand. He was clearly planning to shiv the Robotoid!
Throw out your ATSC 3.0. stomp your cable box. I want analog NTSC TV back, and I want Lost in Space, Star Trek, The Munsters, The Rockford Files, and The Twilight Zone. Only polite honest commercials from now on.

Robotoid means robot like implying it's not actually a robot but something that only superficially resembles a robot but in reality is something substantially different. For example something that is part organic life but is part machine. In this story the definition of a robot is a machine that is constrained by its programming whereas the robotoid has some sort of free will, or the computer equivalent of...
The Robot also seems to be self aware
So, where was Penny during all the robitoid stuff? Did they send her off to camp for the week?

I enjoyed this episode! Robbie the Robot was one of the best guest stars in this show’s history! I just hated how the Robinson’s Robot was too weak in explaining the danger of the “Robotoid” vs an actual Robot!” This was one of the major episodes to define the Robot as a major positive character in this series! BTW, how would the Robot have knowledge about “Robotoids”, since they never existed on Earth? Unless we are including hypothetical theories!!

I like the way this Robbie the robot had a camshaft with rocker arms in it's headed as switches I saw this robot another time and Alfred Hitchcock and someone had lost whatever was under the dome the camshaft thing that lit up and they had to make some cheap looking cardboard thing with the spring coming out under the dome on the Hitchcock episode for this robot was invented by some guy to torture his niece after he died

That's the one thing that made this show almost too silly to watch. They continually gave Smith difficult assignments that were critical to their survival, which of course he never did, and they never, never learned.

He was flattered to have a follower/slave if his own. He also arrogantly assumed that the demonstrably inferior, “all-mechanical” B9 robot wouldn’t be able to pull an off any attack the Robotoid couldn’t counteract.
He goes on to say that this robot (Robby) can “go beyond his programming”. That he has a “free choice” to do what he will but yet he still sought the ones who built & programmed him who wanted him to harm the Robinsons so yes he still went with his programming & basically was still told what to do, so I don’t see what the whole rant was about. This episode showed that truthfully he was anything so I don’t know what all The who how was about but ok. You go on to say that he made his own free choice in obeying but I think he had no free choice as he #1: Felt had to report to his master(s)/maker(s). 2: Exercising free choice he could’ve elected to leave them alone & say “Hey I’m here hanging out, I can choose to taken things as they come instead of doing what my programming dictates that I still be a d!ck & harm these guys. You know because I was made to”.
