Lost Creek Falls and Cave | Sparta, Tn | Tennessee Waterfalls

Another favorite Tennessee Waterfall for us is Lost Creek Falls. It was formerly private property that the locals knew about for many years.
In 2012, Lost Creek State Natural Area was obtained by the public thanks to the generosity of James and Lillian Rylander, and their family.
Mr. Rylander put this area in his will, that upon his death, it would be transferred to the State, for the area’s protection and its enjoyment by the public. We are very thankful for this incredible gift.
Located in a 100 ft. wide sinkhole the falls is seen on one side, and the cave entrance is on the other. About a mile into the cave is the 2nd waterfall.
Lost Creek SNA is definitely worth a day trip to Sparta, Tn.
Please remember to pack out what you pack in :D

It is so much fun! I think this last time, about a month ago, with the Ranger led hike made our 3rd or 4th time. We learned a couple of new things going in with the Rangers. We love this cave also! :D

If you didn't know. There is an easier way under the falls. At 7.25 you are standing on the entrance. It is very easy to shoot in and walk straight to the falls.

Yes! We did a Ranger led hike about a month ago, and they took us that way. We had always crawled over all of the breakdown rubble before 😁 Thanks for sharing. We might not have known.

This is really easy to explore since you dont have to hike far. The cave is only open from May 1 to August 31 because of white nose syndrone.

Lost Creek Cave is not 7 miles long. It is about 3. All of the caves combined to make up the lost creek system may add up to 7 miles. Where are your helmets? You need your hands to cave so a helmet mounted light is needed.

We are discovering that there are a lot of similarly named waterfalls all across this country. Lol But everyone of them have their own unique beauty. They are a little creepy, but this cave is amazing! I think y'all would like it. It is a great big open space inside.
