This was a phenomenal lecture. I was glued to the screen. This is my favorite lecture Dr. Ataie has given. I pray Dr. Ataie can do a longer, deep dive, detailed lecture series on post modernism in the near future InshAllah.

Dr. Ali Ataie is amazing! I pray that his etymological research information spreads farer than the clout seeking debates by polemicists.

I never knew that Foucault was a professor in university of tunis, what a disaster. no wonder Tunisian are the most "liberal" people. no wonder our professors are a mess. I had once a teacher in middle school who taught " Tarbiyah Islamia" and she was one of the most morally corrupt people i've ever seen. Please pray for Tunisia everyone.

Post-structuralism is a rejection of or critique of structuralism (a previous philosophical movement). To call it the rejection hierarchical structures is so grossly reductive it's ridiculous. Especially for a supposed scholar or academic to state and therefore the lecture is impossible to take seriously. Perhaps there are certain topics certain scholars shouldn't touch. Unless they wish to mislead and confuse the listener which I can't imagine any good scholar would ever want to do and would be against their goal, especially if they are Muslim.

Derida calls for deconstruction, Dr. Ali is absolutely correct. So do many other postmodernists. And postmodernism isn't equal to post-structuralism.
