Hello! I just stumbled onto your channel today and am so glad I did! I have been playing guitar for many years but only have intermediate skills. I love the way you explain the chords, show how you play them, show alternatives, and display the chord names/progression. This method allows the person to learn the basics then pause the video and practice (and be reminded of the progression on screen). Also, thanks for describing and showing strumming patterns! I notice many of your videos end with you playing the song through while showing lyrics and the chords- this is an awesome idea and so helpful to get to play along!! The icing on the cake to all of this is your kind demeanor and subtle smiles as you play and explain. Lovely! Thank you for posting these lessons and keep up the GREAT work 🙏

Is there a reason you do not play the song at full speed in the beginning? I like to compare the tabs and cords to the full speed example. Is it a KZread monetization issue?
@thestellarguitarist
21 күн бұрын
Hi! I do a full play through at the end of the lesson so once you have learnt the song in the correct order, then you can play along (use chapters to navigate to the play along). And yes, monetization is a huge issue and super sad for us guitar teachers on KZread who like to sing and do a play through for our students. Making next to nothing for all the time and effort.

It is a very difficult in this video to learn a song. Too long and to much information. Do you sing and play the howle song at any part? Look at swifft lesson, where you can see a very good way to teach songs. First play the howle song. That is a great motivation for the learner to the result in the beginning. Then very quickly go through the cords. Then show slowly the parts of the song. In the end you can also make a special for beginners or advanced players...
@thestellarguitarist
25 күн бұрын
Hi! Each person is entitled to their own way of doing things and teaching on their channel. Swift Lessons is great, if you want to watch someone perform the song first for 3 minutes, then he's the guy for you. Personally, I've never sat down in a guitar lesson and played a song for 3 minutes to a student. That's a performance in my opinion, I am not a performer. I am a teacher. So I teach the song in bite size pieces from beginning to end, with the final product being a full play through of the song, with the chords and lyrics up on the screen. Please use the chapters marked in the lessons to navigate to the play along if you want to see the song first before learning it in the correct order.
@gutefrage879
25 күн бұрын
@@thestellarguitarist that is ok, when you can personalise the lesson. But on youtube this is not realy possible. Maybe people will like your lessons, I feel uncomfortable always going forward and back to find the parts which are important for me. Also when you already learned a lesson and you forget some parts, it is easy just to watch the perfomance and everything comes back. But of course you can do it like you like. It is definitely not the kind I want to learn or be teached on youtube.
