This is when I started watching the Lakers. Sucks that they didn’t win it all that year but at least I got to say I watched Kobe and Shaq play together. Legendary stuff.

They defeated themselves against Detroit. Their stupid egos is what caused them to let opportunity to slip through their hands. Even Chauncey Billups on that '04 Pistons title squad said that LA should've beaten them

It's a Miracle that the Lakers reached the NBA Finals in 2004. Shaq and Kobe carried the Team, with no chemistry... It's the best game from Malone with The Lakers.

Sorry, but you didn’t watch this team play. If you did, You would know that the Lakers were 18-3 before Malone got hurt. Malone was the glue for that team and was killing before his injury, even Derek Fisher admitted that Malone’s injury was what kept that Lakers team from winning another chip. Shaq even said that had Malone not gotten injured he would’ve stayed in LA. That injury ruined everything, and when Malone came back he wasn’t the same and the Lakers were in shambles.

Randy Magnum I wouldn't really call the 04 Pistons one of the greatest teams of all time. They were a great defensive team and they forced opponents (Lakers included) into playing their style of ball. But you're gonna try and lump them in with teams like the 86 Celts, 88 Lakers, 96 Bulls, 01 Lakers ect? I don't think so!

dixonmixin10 01 lakers weren't that great they just had little composition because their team was so stacked compared to others. The 01 Lakers would of lost 4 - 2 at best lol.

Medvendenko or Cook? LOL Rip was a match up problem, Tayshauns length worked well against Kobe, Payton was non existent But what i didn't get....I feel the Spurs should have had em..maybe Spurs feared Lakers..I don't want to say 0.4 was the reason..shouldnt have come to that..

Joe Zigmand In fact, Garnett didn't want to leave the Timberwolves back in 2007, it was a choice of the direction to trade him and try to rebuild. He also took the opportunity that was given to him to play with Pierce and Allen to form the Big Three in Boston and win the championship in 2008.

No Malone was close to the end. This "team" of the Lakers had no chemistry (said Phil Jackson in his book 11Rings), and it was a miracle that they reached the NBA Finals.
