Homelessness is something everyone needs to educate themselves with and as a nation we need to fix this slowly but surely. Thank you for showing the not-so-glamorous side of Los Angeles. It's been heartbreaking to watch the homeless population grow exponentially here with minimal leadership/oversight on actually helping them (though sadly not all of them want help, either). I really hope this video helps to bring awareness to this very sad situation!

Katie we are so happy we could show Los Angeles in the best way possible and still able to point the sad parts surrounding the city too. It’s really heartbreaking to see and we really really hope something happens soon. We will let Tommy know that you said that!

As an angelino, it’s an embarrassment for me to see my city like this. Especially when we have amazing tourists like yourselves visit our city. It’s beautiful, if only it didn’t get to be this bad. Unfortunately, it’s a balance between both the government and the homeless. The government for not providing enough housing for the homeless and the homeless for not wanting to follow housing guidelines and rules. Some choose to not be ready to get a clean life and prefer to be out blocking access for the handicap and the public. It’s definitely a Heath hazard but I am hoping an end comes to this soon for tourists and you guys to enjoy it again one day, the proper way. I have also been binge watching since day one of your USA road trip and it’s been my highlight. I love how short your videos are but soo many clips combined with, perfect way to enjoy it!

Thank you for showing all of Los Angeles, and not only the beautiful part!

We loved this video!! We just moved to Long Beach in October so we got to explore LA when we first arrived & we walked the Hollywood hills sign on the SAME TRAIL!

Venice beach used to be a great place to visit, sadly homeless people move in. A drive on Palos Verdes coast is extremely beautiful.

The homeless have now gone from Venice Beach.

My brother used to live on that street where everyone went up to the sign, if remember correctly we walked up to the sign in a dry creek bed, now there is water, it was like 3 steps, 3 steps up, 3 steps repeat, It was a fun way to go up, if you are a people-watching type then, of course, the main trail.

This post has helped provide some useful information for my upcoming trip and has given me ideas of not only where to go but what to do when we get there. And I have also been inspired to try and set up interview local homeless shelter and organizations and learn about what is being done and or attempted and what projects are underway and how to help gain support & awareness by others. Each city in America and places all over the world to one degree or another have a homeless problem and better solutions must be sought after and applied to better maintain the problem and help end the crisis.

I just moved to LA, stay away from Venice beach, instead go to manhattan beach or santa monica beach. Make sure you take a trip to Malibu too, so nice up there along the PCH.

You might have found it boring, but there are some cool hiking trails 1/2 hour north of the San Fernando valley called Vasquez Rocks. There is a very nice 2 hour hike through some cool rock formations and in the Spring there is a large Juniper field that smells awesome. I'm 90% sure that your van would have been broken into when you got back though.

Yes that was indeed an arm which is really really sad. Lots of the homeless were doing hard drugs right in front of families that were visiting the area. Haha well tacos was our favorite part!! 😂

Where was that spot to park in Beverley hills for the sign

Bronson Caves - Used in many movies nd TV shows. In particular it was used as the external shot of the "Batcave" in 1966's "Batman" TV show and movie. The name "Bronson" comes from "Bronson Avenue" a street in Los Angeles. Trivia: Years ago, there was a western being filmed at Paramount Studios. The studio is located at the intersection of Melrose and Bronson Aves. People wanting to break into the movies would stand outside Paramount's entrance and hope to be chosen as an "extra" in a production. One particular day, a studio staff member was out looking for some people to be in this western. They asked this one young man if he was interested I being an extra. The man said "yes". When the staff member asked for his name, the Mr. Buchinsky didn't want to give his "foreign" sounding name since they were not popular in those days, He looked up at the street sign and said "Bronson, Charles Bronson". The rest is history. This was validated by a Paramount Studios Tour Guide.

Wow, can't believe you guys went through skid row. Before WFH I used to have to go past it to get to work and it was so sad and terrible. Don't want to go back into the office again because of it tbh. Also, yeah, anyone visiting LA...Venice really deteriorated when covid hit and these days really isn't somewhere you want to go. Maybe the canals, but that's it...If you want to walk along that boardwalk start at the Santa Monica pier and walk north..MUCHHHH NICER. Although there really are homeless people everywhere here. Unfortunately for us folks living here, you kinda get de-sensitized to it

Any recommendations anyone? The wifey, daughter and myself are super bored! We’ve already been to Palos Verdes, we don’t want to eat out. More of an adventure please! Thanks in advance

It’s great to be positive but not at the expense or neglect Of ignoring the negatives of life (not that YOU were in this video). it causes more problems which is now on the political agenda again in the recall elections. Simultaneously for my other channel that focuses on serious topics like homelessness trying to help people faced with it survive it and get housing and also trying to understand the root causes and try to organize a think tank on how to solve the problem or at least manage it better than it currently is.

skidrow has genrified quite a bit... there is an area where the police don't go... Skidrow has really grown into different parts of Los Angeles. You can find one homeless person every 100 feet or so in Los Angeles. Yes, extremely messed up...not just in the cities either. There is a spot where I drive by daily. You can see who just arrived (at a bus stop) who is homeless. The most striking and sad moment was that of a mother and her children... so messed up.
