I'm guessing you're referring to Cursed to Die, Sun/Eater and Into the Earth, I kind of agree with you, they're not their best songs for that very reason, there is nothing unique that sets them apart from their other songs, but Pain Remains is nothing like any of their other songs, not even And I Return to Nothingness, my other favourite.

The song might only sound like it's ending abruptly because it's likely going directly into Part 2. Then again, it's a nice artistic representation of the suddenness of death. As heavy and brutal as this band often is, there were several moments in this song that were just plain beautiful. I'm amazed at how they can combine all the elements so well. "Beauty" shouldn't work in a really heavy genre like this, but it does, and it works so very well. It's also great to hear how they occasionally change up their iconic sound, and Will continues to amaze with bringing vocal sounds that I've never heard before. He's truly one of the most versatile vocalists out there, period. Will also has a great voice for clean vocals, and I can't help but wonder if we might hear just even a little bit of singing from him in a future Lorna Shore track.

He did that whole thing with "The Charismatic Voice" and tons of people think she should do a compilation with them. Since she's an opera singer and they've got all the symphonics in their songs. It'd be amazing to see them figure out how to do that. Metal has started bringing in outside the genre people recently and it's worked well in my opinion. Jason Richardson's song with that cellist was awesome.

I am one of the recent folks on the bandwagon of discovering this band & simply being blown away by their sound. The genre spanning within metal is really refreshing to hear. Lorna Shore is doing a god level job of actually making it fun to listen to death core music & Will's singular vocal talents. It is too easy to write off not enjoying bands of this nature as songs can be jarring and sounding like a run on sentence due to consistent screaming, double bass & ridiculous tempos. This particular song is a wonderful example of putting all of those elements to work & really changing how one can enjoy this style of music. Yes, there are many similar bands out there doing the very same thing. LS however, is bridging a gap those other bands are always going to have a hard time due to the nature of that acquired taste of those particular elements mentioned above. I would compare this bands rise is akin ( & much smaller scale I know, but best reference ) to Nirvana. Sure, there was a huge underground grunge fanbase already, but "Nevermind" was the genre's rocket into global appreciation of grunge.

Goosebumps after the talking part, every single time, such a great song :) I wonder if the cut is because it's only part I, and there being a seamless transition on the album to part II, or if they really cut it, like Wintersun did with Eternal Darkness (Autumn) from Forest Seasons. Back when that song dropped I also thought that the export didn't finish properly, because it was so cut off, but Jaris explanation was along the lines of "The song ends as abruptly and as unexpected as a life can end", which, I think, would also match Lorna Shore's song here. But I wouldn't mind a seamless transition to the next song for sure :3 EITHER WAY I'm SO hyped for the new album AAAAAAH
