Well it was obviously him half playbacking it over his actual recordings (which we hear) for the final video take. As usual. Nik did the same - we see him play it in one take but we hear the actual recording which took likely hours.

It isn't absurdly short for Lorna, only fairly recently have they been aiming for about 6 minutes. Their first 3 albums have many songs around the same length, and hell, if this had CJ I think it would have been a decent Immortal song. (Would be better with Will with the sound tho)

With a shorter intro and a shorter solo, Lorna can easily do songs under 4 and a half - 5 minutes. A number of their songs still come in under 5 minutes.

I was having that same experience when you watch a really funny movie and you can't catch your breath because the jokes are so funny.
