There is nobody in the world who sounds quite like Loreena McKennitt. I'm glad she's still making this sound that is uniquely hers.

My wife and I had waited years for Loreena to come to our area. A few months ago we saw her in Grand Rapids MI and it was definitely worth the wait. It was a magical evening of blissful music.

When you listen to her you get the feeling she is singing directly to the listener

One of the greatest voices of our time in my opinion.

Just "dropped in" to listen to a few minutes of this KZread and ended up watching the whole concert so mesmerized was I by Loreena's music and voice - I love her energy, her charisma and her modesty . . . WHAT a VOICE that has stayed steady, haunting and spectacularly unique and lovely over the decades !!!

Maturity has embellished, warmed the deeply emotional voice of Loreena McKennitt. Inspirational, she reaches us with a sense of eternal life. We are blessed to know her; our lives are enriched by her.

I find it incredibly difficult to believe Loreena's only sold 14,000,000 albums worldwide, That should be BILLIONS. She is an absolute treasure like no other. And her "band" members are incredible, to boot!

She might have the best band in the world. These are people who don't need the work. They were all doing very successful careers apart from Loreena when she went on hiatus. As soon as she came back they all dropped what they were doing to rejoin her out of love.

1998 Berkeley CA. Is where I discovered Loreena. The Mummers Dance. Extraordinary I loved her then. I love her now. And to see her violinist is still with her. Dedication.

No, they did not realize the talent and brilliance they were seeing and hearing . I would of LOVED to have been there. . OMG..

She is in my opinion a true bard, whose music reminds us that heaven is within all of us.

A unique voice... an ageless talent... an unwordly charisma... and so humble!! She is truly one of the greatest artists and human beings!! Amazing in every respect!!!

Some people were just born to be entertainers. This is an exceptional performance by a really talented Celtic musician/singer. Electric guitar, harp, fiddle, piano and a strong voice are found here

Amazing Loreena. My favorites for over 10 years now. Just cannot stop listening her. It is just pure magic. How does she do this to our soul ?

The best singer of Canada

A lot of this lovely intricate and distinctive music is not an easy thing to write, sing and perform . . . what a gifted musician Loreena is, along with her band . . . I love her voice both spoken and sung . . . a great stage presence too :-)

I attented her concert yesterday in Leipzig . The concert was so poignent and absolutely mind blowing . If you ever have the chance to attend her concert , then please do your self a favor and buy the damn ticket it is worth your money . I had the best night ever .

There's still a little bt of hope for this world so long as people still desire beauty like her music.

I live in Australia and she performed here in the early years 1990 . Lovely concert and have always stayed with her music and do hope she returns but sadly I think not. Her music is food for the soul and will always remain timeless for me. Best wishes for a long and inspiring life my lady.

In July 1998, McKennitt's fiancé Ronald Rees, his brother Richard, and their close friend Gregory Cook drowned in a boating accident on Georgian Bay. She was deeply affected by the event, and she founded the Cook-Rees Memorial Fund for Water Search and Safety in the same year. At the time of the incident, she was working on a live album of two performances called Live in Paris and Toronto. The proceeds from this album were donated to the newly created memorial fund, totaling some three million dollars. After the release of the live album, McKennitt decided that she would substantially reduce the number of her public performances, and she did not release any new recordings until the studio album An Ancient Muse in 2006.

Loreena is amazing, her voice is incredible

Besides the tabernacle choir I also listen to Loreena Mckennitt on the Sabbath day, love her music ,it takes my inmagination to places where my heart desires to be.

Came to my city just a few months ago. I was working the night of the concert and passed by the venue to see if her bus was in the parking lot and it was. I didn't disturb her or her band but there was a man up that I could see through the front windshield. Anyway she is a magnificent musician and her songs are off the charts with feeling. A beautiful soul that I have been blessed to discover. Since the 80's been in love w Loreena. @ Her incredible Traveling Band of the finest musicians. A dream come true when she came to pgh...couple yrs.ago. AMAZING!!! when concert was over @ the place cleared out, i was still there. WHO comes out in the lobby?? Loreena. We chatted a few minutes. Got 2 photos w her @ SHE WAS SO GRACIOUS, @ KIND. My love affair with this woman's music began around 1994, 30 years ago, and she certainly has created a niche for herself. Having just returned from Granada and the Alhambra , again after many years, I felt her presence was, curiously, still lingering. She left it there after her remarkable concert with that amazing band. Thank you.

What you say about audiophle quality is true. Her Bonny Portmore will expose the flaws in most systems. You've got to get up into Sonus Faber or Magneplanar speakers and amplification and playback of similar quality before her voice rings true and doesn't smear. Her dynamics will overpower most systems. Dante's Prayer will melt your heart once you are able to hear all there is in that beautiful recording.

I have seen her concerts so many times. April 6 2024 again in Antwerp. Only her hair has changed, nothing else. She is fabulous ❤

I HAVE BEEN A FAN SINCE THE VERY FIRST TIME THE 1994 BONNY SWANS VIDEO APPEARED ON PBS. ANY SONG, ANY TIME, ANY VENUE... ALWAYS SUPERB.

Well I've got 3 of them. First time I listened to he it was on Public TV. Rushed to the computer looking her up . Bought her live at the Alhambra at a festival, and it's my go to DVD for when I just need to chill. Love her style and sound.

This is the essence of beauty. Words can hardly do justice to describe the energy of this music. I have seen her live performance in Mannheim, Germany and was simply swept away. Looking foward to see her in Frankfurt next year.

Yes I felt quite a few of them under-appreciated what they were experiencing - I hope not - but at least they held off with the applause after each song.

A great artist. First time I listen her was in 1994, during a dive trip. Amazing. I had a opportunity watching her pretty close at Rio de Janeiro few years ago.
