I was awestruck meeting Ms.McKennitt by accident in a breakfast restaurant not too long ago. Had to put my glasses on first to make sure it was her! The waiter clarified it and I managed to muster the bravery to go over. She is quite striking in person but even more warm, generous and down to earth. A true artist.

I saw her perform at the beginning of her 90s fame in a rather small bistro setting that was actually rather intimate. It was almost disappointing a few years later we saw her in a much larger venue. Obviously it was still excellent.

I first started listening to Loreena's music back in 1997 when Mummer's Dance came out, first I had heard of her. I quickly tracked down all of her albums and found how great her music was and still is. No matter how dark the world gets, Loreena's music is a light at the end of the tunnel to bring you back from the abyss.

Loreena… she’s in a class all by herself. No one does what she does. Her creativity, god given talent and drive have come together to give the world pure joy and transport anyone who listens to almost another dimension. She’s the most unique artist out there and simply a beautiful person as can be seen by so many other artists working with her for decades.

Was at a little music store in Doolin, co. Claire Ireland in 1994 and I was 20 years old and at the beginning of my backpacking around the world. A friend and I were playing traditional tunes on our tin whistles near the one little road near the cliffs there and a German woman who owned the restaurant/ music store had been telling me her very magical friend was going to arrive any moment and that I would love her music. She handed me a cd. The car arrived outside and there was a subtle hubbub made by those there in the know. There was a pretty woman inside. It started raining and I went on my way but I had a cd of her music and now that would keep Me company around the globe and inform even my own music later. So I check in every few years to see what’s become of its maker. A timeless wonder.

Listening to Loreena and her ensemble is like listening to a tapestry. I have admired her and her music for decades.

We live close to where Loreena McKennitt is based, so we have been able to see her many times. We know how lucky we are. She is a gifted singer, composer, and business woman, and yet she is every bit as gracious as she appears onstage. What many people don’t know about her is that she is a strong advocate for social justice locally, getting involved in issues that she feels passionate about. She is a person of integrity, and we are so proud of her.

She is absolutely amazing.........that voice, in combination with this highly talented group of musician's, does indeed take the listener to another dimension.

For me, Loreena has been 'Life Music'. When I look back on my life and want to play a soundtrack that identifies with it, Loreena's genius is the only sound that qualifies. She gets it. She just gets it.

The first time I heard your music I was in the car traveling over the Bay bridge to San Francisco and just started crying, and I couldn’t stop. That was over 30 yrs ago. I had to call the radio station to find who was singing. You’ve been my favorite female artist ever since. You’re music touches something deep inside. My soul delights every time I listen to your music. You are such a gift. Blessings from a huge fan.

I was in a bookstore many years ago and I just stopped in my tracks when I heard this angelic voice singing over the intercom. I asked the person at the desk what music they were playing and he said Loreena McKennitt the CD is "The Visit" All these years later I must have every CD Loreena has ever put out. I listen to her music while doing my artwork and it takes me to a whole different dimension. It's almost like being in a meditation state of complete bliss. I thank you Loreena for all the beautiful music you have created. It has changed my life.

Thanks for sharing this remarkable video. I have listened to Loreena McKennitt since the 90s (when I was quite young, and Mummer's Dance took off). She's never failed to transport me to other worlds. I was fortunate to see her live in 2019 in Montreal, and then again last year, and both performances were absolutely sublime. Really so pleased to have enjoyed her music for so much of my life, and I feel so fortunate to have experienced her music live in recent years. I thank my lucky stars that a local radio station played "Lady of Shalott" which moved me to my core and made me an instant fan. Her music takes me to wonderful places and times long past. Her music matches my heart and soul. We are kindred spirits. I have never met her but I feel she knows me.

I remember discovering her when "The Mummer's Dance" was getting radio play in the late 90s. I stumbled on the "Book of Secrets" album and was hooked. What's funny is I bought that one and Type O Negative's "October Rust" the same night at a Sam Goody in my local mall. I have a wide range of musical taste lol. For years now I've had a playlist of Celtic music that I listen to during the fall which has a lot of her music on it, and recently I've been adding a lot of Nordic folk music. Absolutely love how haunting her voice is.

I went through a period in my life in the late '90's, when I was struck emotionally every time I listened to Full Circle. No matter where I was, I had to stop, pull over, sit and close my eyes. I would sob uncontrollably, every time. It was not sadness, rather it was joy, awe and immense gratitude I felt. This song became my direct line to Spirit, allowing me to enter a vulnerable space within seconds of hearing the first notes. First saw Loreena in what was called the UC, while I was attending Guelph University in the 80’s. I think it was in the early to mid 80’s when I saw her. It was also the first time I had been exposed to the harp, up close and personal. I spoke with her after the show and found her to be very approachable, forthcoming and candid about her life. We had similar backgrounds, in that, we both experienced an event in our adolescence … I think she was a tad younger when she experienced it. It was the fact I could see how she overcame any adversity associated with that experience, which was such an inspiration for me. Not only was she a successful musician but she was also a business woman managing her own career … not to mention a caring human being. The whole experience of meeting her and seeing what she was doing with her life, gave me hope and confidence in myself. The next time I saw her perform was at Hamilton Place, with an Irish co-worker who also sang and played guitar. We both loved the show and were so happy we decided to go see her in concert. The acoustics were and are awesome in that venue. The difference between the two times I saw Loreena (80’s and then in the 2000’s) was like day and night, with respect to the performance. Even though she’s come a long way from the young woman I met ’about 30 years prior … she still had the same work ethic and involvement in the management of her musical career … and continues to do so even today, so it seems. I think it’s absolutely brilliant Loreena is still playing and touring almost 40 years since I first saw her. I would hazard a guess to say she’s probably touched many lives, as she did mine, in a very positive and inspirational way! God bless you, Loreena! 🙏🙌

I don't know how many times I've watched this documentary, it's marvelous. I own the DVD included in the special edition of A midwinter night's dream, lovely.

I came for just a moment to hear a tune or two and was so captivated by Loreena's tale that I stayed to hear it all. There is a lot to be said for spending an hour listening to good music; even more for the telling of Loreena's tale. Another triumph, another milestone set.

Her voice is truly a fine instrument and she produces far more than music with it. I feel her music as much as I hear it.

Such a beautiful trip down memory lane...I was able to see her during this tour in '07 (my second time seeing her live the first was in late '94 in NYC when The Mask and Mirror was new...still one of the best albums ever!), and she never fails to move, delight, and instruct by her music and her personality. (The ensemble is damned impressive, too, and receive full marks from me always!) I hope I can see her again someday, and will be listening in the meantime!

Loreena is an incredible artist and story teller. Music comes alive in her hands. Been a fan now for almost 20 years!

I ‘discovered’ Loreena and this wonderful band on April 21st 2001, the day my beautiful daughter Sarah gave birth to my darling granddaughter Xalia. I was with her in the hospital to support her during her labour and birth. The Mask and Mirror was the album that Sarah had chosen to play during the experience. I have so much of Loreena’s music now but I still love that album best because it’s such a treasured memory 🥰

Lorena has always been such a musical treasure. I'd love for her to come tour through Texas!
