dude, I beat the game give me a break yes I know, the game was made for three year olds but why would it be made for three year olds and yes you broke the router sir and your now going to some random planet with three year olds on it. no I meant 900 and yodas.

Remember that plot twist? It was awesome to finally learn that... Leia was padme's daughter all along!!!!!!! Oooops I think I spoiled what happens 4000 years after this. Now you won't be able to play this game because you know the ending

Just to clear things up, the KOTOR-referencing books released before the TOR MMO canonicalized Revan as male, and Meetra Surik/the exile as Female. With light side being the canon ending to both games. The books connect the MMO and the First two games in an OFFICIAL manner, agreed upon by lucasarts when the MMO released.

The main reason for that is the post-RotJ material, but they couldn't justr go ahead and list all the material from EU and say - ok we're keeping this, scrap that, this goes away, this too, this is fine I guess we'll keep it and so on... This way they have a fresh slate for new stories but the old republic material, especially Revan's era can very well be canonized in some way in the future.

Before KOTOR 1, Darth Revan was the reigning Dark Lord of the Sith until Darth Malak betrayed his closest friend when Revan’s ship was boarded by Bastila Shan’s boarding party. After KOTOR, Revan was redeemed as a Jedi Knight (though feeling more Grey moreso than pure Light side)

KOTOR 3 would have been about Revan and the Exile joining forces and venturing into uncharted space to stop Vitiate.

Andrew Shuboy Well in the book, they along with a rogue sith try. But the rogue sith sees a vision in which they fail but another jedi succeeds, so in order to make this possible, he betrays and kills the exile. Revan is imprisoned for 300 years being kept alive by vitiate and the spirit of the exile. He escapes and is killed. His dark half, however, refuses to die, but about two years later after starting a mini war to wake vitiates spirit and kill him once and for all,he died and vitiates spirit was awoken

I think everyone wishes they made another KOTOR instead of an MMO. A KOTOR 3 would have been epic. The storyline of the first game was better than any of the star wars movies.

You can't make money from single player RPGs anymore (at least not enough to satisfy the folks at the top and the investors). You buy the game once and bang, that's it. Sure you can get DLC but you're not obliged to, you've already got the game. Bioware allegedly has over 800 employees, people are putting insane amounts of money into video games and unlike films, they don't get a theatrical run and then a DVD run as well as picking up royalties from TV. Retail games get one shot at release and if you screw up, that could be it for you. With an MMO, you can rip people's balls out through their wallets and make them pay monthly for the same service, where they end up paying vast sums of money to achieve the same goal. It's actually genius when you think about it. What we want is an RPG the scale of TOR with the story of KOTOR but you won't make money from it in today's market. So it will never get done. Bioware (and the knock ons from it) are fully aware that KOTOR was one of the master strokes of gaming history. I imagine aside from the money perspective, they don't want to shit on the legacy of their greatest achievement. It's sad but unfortunately likely true.

Ryan Packer Funny thing is, the story of KOTOR is both massively simplistic, quite childish and fairly predictable (except for the epic twist). Somehow though, it was still really compelling and a lot of fun.

+NeutralGrounder they were gonna make a KOTOR 3, but then shit hit the fan. I dont remember how, but i think EA bought them and canceled the game, or Lucasarts cut the funding.

Wonderful, KoTOR Still remains my favourite game of all time! I just wish there was an official pazaak card set for sale out there somewhere.

DatWitheredPineApple I understand, it was just a pun, but: **LORE TIME** Alek goes evil, because he started hating Mandos after they almost tortured him to death. Then he was rejected by a girl in favor of a Mandalorian warrior (or at least Malak thought, it was a Mando), which made him even more Dark-Sided

This was my favorite game as a kid, I still love it as an adult today

I love it how right at the end you guys say have fun and then the character shows a really sad face lol

To save you a minute thar was already passed : you win the game, if you have the high ground.

I don't even like star wars (except for lightsabers, those things are cool), but this game was great. I liked it better than ANY of the films.

Waylon Williams the only problems with it is that it does not support newer monitor resolutions, and even if you get it to fit, the UI will still be out of place. Still perfectly playable though

Mr. Person Waylon Williams There's a tool you can download called "Flawless Widescreen". I use it, and now my KOTOR (Steam version) looks nice and pretty on my 1920x1080 monitor.

Let Obsidian do it. They outshone Bioware on Kotor 2, you can really see it with TSLRCM, it`s fantastic. And they actually love KOTOR, unlike Bioware who decided to reel in the cash.

comebackkid44723 EA have the license to make Star Wars games, so they are pretty much the only RPG dev that can make another Star Wars RPG for the next ten years (thats how long EA holds the license but I'd say it could get extended) also Obsidian are busy with their own games and are rumored to be working on Fallout: New Orleans, in an ideal world I'd want both to work on their own Star Wars RPGs, pretty much every RPG dev should lol

It would be fantastic if they would contract it out to them. Where did you hear that rumour? That would be a nice comforting little nugget, New Vegas was a fantastic game. Imagine a Fallout that had 4`s combat crafting and settlement design but with New Vegas` faction system, story, dialogue and characters, and quality story DLC 0.0 That would be a fantastic Fallout game.

Mudcrab Menace Hmm, have to check that out at some point. Yeah, it`s better than nothing but at the same time we should demand better from the industry. Complacency and acceptance of mediocrity from any industry whether it be books movies video games or even other goods and services leads to a watering down of the quality offered.

Didn't even try to make Revan's mask correct? And also used the Old Republic Re-Write that made no sense? I mean, if Revan wanted to take on a Bigger Sith Empire why did he attack the Republic? It makes no sense!

He attacked the Republic to strenghthen it (some of the mandalorian philosophy rubbed on him I guess), it's hinted throughout the games that he leaves some crucial spots in the republic intact (also one of the reasons why malak challenged him). Something like - the Republic is weak but still valuable, I'll forge it anew through conflict and destruction. In the end I figure he would assimilate what was left of the Republic to his Empire and prepare for Vitiate.

omegafire heart It wasn't untill KOTOR III that Revan was canonized as being male but that game had so many plot holes and broke the canon of the first two games so many times that I personally don't give 3 flying f***s. In the second game there is more evidence that Revan was a female and even more additional dialogue if you have a saved game from KOTOR as a female. There is no additional dialogue from having a male Revan.

KOTOR, is an acronym of Knights of the Old Republic. Just in case you don't know, an acronym is where you shorten a series of words into one word by using the first letter in each word. It's common in most game titles where it's too tedious to type out the entire thing if you're referring to it often.

Man does this video bring back memories.

Loved KotOR. Didn't know Malak and Revan fought before Malak's betrayal. Now I know how/why Malak was missing his jaw and needed that face plate thing.

Revan obtained his mask from a fallen Mandalorian, not the Mandalore himself. He actually hid the Mandalore's mask on Rekkiad, where he returned with Canderous Ordo to find it again, crowing Ordo as Mandalore the Preserver, rebuilding their society.

God damn it Lore, you guys made me remember KOTOR and the countless hours I put into it, and now I need to start another playthrough. Game was so amazing!

I took the time to play through this game a few years back... Totally worth it!!

FINALLY!!!!

I haven't played these games, but MAN this is what I would like to see a Star Wars movie about! The glory days of the republic, the GOLDEN AGE of the Jedi Knights! The two Star Wars trilogies we've had so far feels almost post-apocalyptic, like Luke is the last living Jedi Knight (spoiler ;)) and the glory days are all but forgotten in the Galaxy. Too depressing. I can see a MUCH more epic saga set during the Golden Age!

Lore about one of my favourite games of all time, AND Crendor? Jackpot.

Okay, I'll admit that squeal doesn't have the same shocking moment as original Kotor, but it's still deep, because it touches the more philosophical side of the Star Wars universe, like both pure light and pure dark are too extreme and the only way to be a perfect jedi is to be human, possessing both light and darkness, which is what made Raven so powerful, because he didn't held on to a single ideal. Much love to Kreia.

Alex Mercer worked for Gentek, he helped develop the blacklight virus and then stole it and was planning to release it if not paid a large sum of money. they killed him before he could escape the facility (he came close) but he dropped the vial containing his sample of the virus as he died. the escaped virus absorbed and brokedown his corpse and used it a a sort of template to build a part human part black light creature which was the protagonist. (not really Alex but technically a clone of him)

Indeed, Malak got the stripes on his head not long after losing his hair to the Mandalorians due to days of torture. After briefly lamenting the loss of his hair, he helped one of Zayne Carrick's old friends out by posing as a space pirate named Captain Malak.

Alex Mercer worked for Gentek, developped the virus and thought of releasing it but lost his memory. Basically that.
