You can always create and save a custom button mapping to use with this game to easily load in before playing. Recently had to do this in another game for the same reason.

An enemy being placed near a pit is not a "gotcha" death in every case. Games like Castlevania and Ninja Gaiden would reward cautious players that were observant of their surroundings. The part that you showed did not appear "unfair" to me.

There are times where the enemy is offscreen till you make the jump, that's what I was referring to. It happens more late game which I never show much late game video on purpose.

@@NicoPlaysIndies Oh, okay. I just know the part you showed with the worm thing knocking you in the pit didn't look like a completely unreasonable situation.

Controls are baffling. I've got the Steam version, and the same letter buttons correspond to the same actions... except, on Xbox pads, it's the Nintendo equivalent of the normal B=jump Y=attack. Sounds like the dev mapped the Switch keys w/Xbox layout in mind without noticing. Otherwise think the games great. Done multiple playthroughs, currently achievement hunting. Along with Bloodstained its one of the better Vania clones.
