The best version for me is, "Mina Lund" in the voice of Norway 2019. Outstanding.

i love this cover with my whole heart and it’s so special that she covered it during pure heroine with her lil dance moves. i come back to it from time to time 🤍

I love how she leans into the dark parts, a completely different feel, such a great interpretation.

4 years later and this still gets me.. too angelic. I can completely understand that some Bon Iver fans aren't in too much awe whilst listening to this though since they're two very different artists with different styles and voices.

I hate the people disregarding LORDE as an artist and her cover as this song. I think it is beautiful as it merges her style of singing and Bon Iver's "Heavenly Father"

I honestly don't get why there is so much hate on all her cover videos. I like most of her covers. But I like her original songs wayyyy more

Quite like this. Same sort of vibe.. Don't think the song is strong enough to handle covers though - it's a performance song, rather than just a great song.

NIck Wilson's, Twisted Measures, and Highasakite's versions are all infinitely better if you're looking for something good.

why is she a fucking second early on every line. I like lorde, I wanted this to be good. I think if done in a studio it could be.

I wish those stupid bitches would stop talking! Lorde deserves way way better than that! This woman is so talented it would take 3 musical artists, lyricists, singers, and dancing performers to be half as good as she is. I mean Kccufff I am completely sitting here crying my eyes out after this copy of this song, but that has been the case after every song I have heard at this show in Milwaukee. Watch the Highasakite cover of Heavenly Father. Much better than this version. Non-stop shivers.

I know her vocals is like bad from the vocal skill, and overall from everything. But there's something with her voice that I really love, especially the instrumental of this cover. It's bad yet it's heavenly (at least in my opinion)

She doesn’t have a powerful voice. Doesn’t mean she has a bad voice. There’s something about it that’s so enchanting and haunting.

sometimes i feel like she stops singing and starts spouting a weird Shakespearian monologue. i don't get why singers feel the need to give words weird inflections/pronunciations that don't sound natural or melodic or lend themselves to music in any way...

Kit, I get what you say. Lorde is a great songwriter but I don't like her singing style or her performances. I think she has a limited vocal range, hence the Shakespearian monologue. Well said.

I'd go along with that. Lorde will always interpret songs in the same overdramatic way because she lacks the vocal range.

Lorde is a great songwriter but not a great performer. I think she is still trying to find her way with that, still evolving but definitely not a natural performer.

I saw her last year in a Festival, she is an insane performer. In 4 days I saw wonderful artists/bands like Arcade Fire, Royal Blood, alt-J, The Lumineers, Agnes Obel, Birdy, Benjamin Clementine, Milky Chance etc... But the one who impressed me the most is definitely Lorde. Sadly when you take videos it doesn't sounds as good as her live performance. You have to see her to understand how amazing she is

Lucas, that's cool. You are right, a lot of the videos I've seen don't do her justice, but you know she has definitely improved as a performer. There is more confidence and more grace in how she moves across the stage. I was really put off by the clawing, the jerking and the scowling but now I find she expresses a lot more in a subdued, eloquent manner and yes, more natural.

I never saw her during her Pure Heroine Tour, and as the videos don't do her justice, I can't say "she wasn't a good performer at this time". But you're right Hemi. Even though I already loved her moves since her first album, now she is way more graceful. Her stage presence is impressive and I was mesmerized from the beginning to the end.
