that's what all of lorde's performances are about. they're about the passion and the intensity of being in the moment; losing yourself in a show surrounded by people who share your interests/admire your music, and just dancing and singing along and having FUN. she never cares about her vocals, she just loses herself like a manic (in the best possibly way) and i love that

nah the 1975 version is the original and is quite honestly better than ANY cover. But if you wanna point out things vocal aspects lords voice is very breathy and drags out the songs. its not a bad thing just different. but the original will always be the best

I love that Lorde doesn't just cover songs to sound identical to the original artist but she brings her own sound into them. If you're complaining than you don't realize how truly talented she is. BUT ANYWAYS, I love hearing my fave covering another one of my faves.

People, calm down. This might not be her best performance but hey, consider this a live for herself, not for you. She said it herself, Somebody Else inspired Melodrama, and you can tell that she really liked this version of this song. Let her get lost and share a music piece she likes, a music that inspired her music; with people who likes her music, alright? I think music is a process, but not just finished products. I myself see this live as her showing us her progress, how she grew up in her music career, and I enjoy seeing her fully immersed in the performance. The chorus is too fast and too low for her voice, she doesn't bite into the lyrics, so what? The comment section is so negative.

yea i agree with all of that but like.... the chorus wasn't too low for her voice. dont get me wrong i loooove lorde but the lowest note in the chorus is the b under middle c, and that isn't low. lorde puts effort into every note and every word though, so it just sounds like it's too low i think. i'm not a music theory expert or anything tho lol

This is so great. Loved it. Found myself singing along. Love the roughness of it all. She should release a studio version. I love The 1975 so much and this is one of my favorite songs and she did it justice.

Thank you for uploading this in full. I’m not a big Lorde fan as I don’t know too much about her, but you could easily see how much she loves singing that song and happy she was to perform that. It was a pleasure to watch. She really liked being up there and doing that. So... right on! Cool cool.
