My father is 76 years old. He has NEVER been into the fantasy genre in any sense. Over the last 15 years, I have tried numerous times to get him to watch LOTR with me to no avail. This past Christmas, I was able to FINALLY convince him to sit down and watch at least The Fellowship Of The Rings (extended version) with me. Within a 5 day span, we finished ALL 3 Extended Versions and my 76 years old father was in tears by the end of it and thanked me for sharing them with him. He told me "I haven't enjoyed a journey like that in a long time".

Haha similar incident happens with my roommate in clg. Before a holiday break, I downloaded him all 3 lotr extended edition clips, although he wasn't much in fantasy but he promised that he would "look" . A week later he returned as a LOTR nerd. According to him, he began watching fellowship to see what it is before going to bed, ended up pulling a whole nighter, finishing all 3 in one go.

Frodo : “I can't do this, Sam.” Sam : “I know. It's all wrong By rights we shouldn't even be here. But we are. It's like in the great stories Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were, and sometimes you didn't want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy. How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad happened. But in the end, it's only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something. Even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back only they didn’t. Because they were holding on to something.” Frodo : “What are we holding on to, Sam?” Sam : “That there’s some good in this world, Mr. Frodo. And it’s worth fighting for.”

Keeping mind I had no idea about the story, the end left me a bit puzzled. I endes up watching the two sequels at cinema, too. Have since watched the extended copies over a dozen times, read the books and even read other books such as the Silmarillion and hurin. Amazing world set out by Tolkien! I just absolutely love it!

The reason i believe that heaven for me would look like the shire, is because all i could ever want in life is represented by the shire. A great community with fantastic weather, beautiful green fields, fantastic and kind neighbors, and work to keep me occupied and living comfortably and happy for the rest of eternity. That's all I'd need to truly be in heaven.

I guess because the hobbit is the part of our human self which represents life. and since this music sounds fresh, blooming, growing, the message of life is being transported by it. Hobbits like to watch things grow. Life is growing, death is decaying. And home is something pure, we carry it in our hearts, it is the things we love dearly in this life.

What if they just forgot they stashed their fireworks away, and their Bilbo is waiting for them to knock on his door? Be the Gandalf you always wanted in your life. Decades after, I'm just turned 25, thousands of miles away from my mom, dad had passed year ago as well as the war started so I had to emigrate . Now there's a tremendous earthquake in a country where I'm living for a moment. I don't know, how it'll be, but I know for sure, when I'll feel like it's a time, I'll turn these movies on, sit back and jump back to the good old days, when the biggest problem was to do homework. "Roads go ever ever on, Over rock and under tree, By caves where never sun has shone, By streams that never find the sea; Over snow by winter sown, And through the merry flowers of June, Over grass and over stone, And under mountains in the moon. Roads go ever ever on Under cloud and under star, Yet feet that wandering have gone Turn at last to home afar. Eyes that fire and sword have seen And horror in the halls of stone Look at last on meadows green And trees and hills they long have known. " Every time I read Bilbo's poem, it's set to this melody in my head. Howard Shore really just nailed that feeling of home here.

This triology, this music and the story of the little Hobbit helped me so much with my anxiety. It makes me feel like one day everything will be okay. Right now it might be hard, sad and scary but one day this pain will be over. It will feel like coming home after a long journey and I will be safe with no worries. Maybe this will never come true, I honestly don’t know, but it gives me the strength to go on, to keep walking. Hopefully I will learn from this journey and when I come home I might not be the same person as when I left, but that’s good, because I’ll be okay.

I was just listening to this out loud reading the comments... How many memories are left here, how much love and sorrow I saw here... A whole world and history is left, and I'm still listening to this for over a hundred years... Time passes so fast, I miss my forest life, I miss my friends back there where we could just pretend we're heroes and kings, playing for eternity... Time by time, everything changed when we were suddenly apart, by the Masters in the village or some kind of love we found hiding behind a tree... I WANT TO GO BACK TO MY VILLAGE, WHEN I WAS 6 YEARS OLD... I MISS MY MATES SO BAD, AND IT'S ALL BECAUSE OF THIS TRILOGY

Hullo there, To the people's of middle earth. Greetings from your fellow folk. I just recently finished reading the book named as 'Downfall of The Lord of the Rings and the Return of the King' by Bilbo and frodo baggins. It contains 80 chapters as you knew it. And it is covered in red leathers. I would like to remind this beautiful journey, whenever i feel low. So help me to keep remember this beautiful comment section (worthy to be praised by minstrel's ) To all fellow Middle-Earth folks. I was once here and listened to this great soul-soothing ost and heard the tales of great men, elves, hobbits, dwarves, wizard. Again i want to be here someday, i request all of you to be safe out there. until i came back from the undying lands. (P.S) Try to reach out Treebeard and tell him I'm on a adventure here in far western country. He's one of my dearest friend. Thank you, KK

I believe that Lord Of The Ring is one of those mythical, legendary films, which do much more than make you dream, which makes you want to go on an adventure, to face a terrible creature and to make fabulous encounters. This complete world is, according to me, a story, a world, a legend not to be forgotten, a legend that will make many generations dream. Like good old Gandalf would say, the world is not in your books and maps, its out there...

As we grow older we realize that a peaceful life like that of the shire is what we really desire. Simple work, coming home to a warm and merry atmosphere, and sitting down on the porch with a cup of tea and pipe weed. The life of a hobbit is simple yet wholesome

For me, there is no better fantasy ever written than The Lord Of The Rings. It is so immersive, so many moral things to learn. "Even the smallest person can change the course of the future".

I completely agree. I wrote a little book for myself about the 121 things I learned from LOTR's. I surprised myself with the spiritual and moral life lessons I learned. Thank you J.R.R. Tolkien and to Peter Jackson and company!!! ❤

Not too many people give Howard shore the credit he deserves for the amazing work he did creating and crafting the music for the best trilogy in motion picture history, I dread to think how lord of the rings would have sounded had it been done by a different composer. Same goes for all films with a memorable score.

“In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort.” - The Hobbit
