No matter who Michael puts out front in the dance, I still see him in almost every move. I love that he is such a great artist and for what he has created. But, I even admire his more as well rounded human being who knows from where his blessings truly come from. I just enjoy listening to him talk, and the moment where he reveals another great aspect of his life. When the producers and money men that were backing River Dance tried to destroy him, he came back stronger and the world was and is better for it. Thank you Michael Flatley, for all the joy you have given me.

This guy took traditional Irish dance to another level by including the passion of Spanish flamenco and his gestures as well as part of his clothing, he gave it more elegance and spectacularity.

......Michael Flatley was my locker partner at Brother Rice High School in Chicago, in 1975. He was a sophomore & I was a senior. He looked like a young Danny Bonaduce from The Partridge Family TV show. A thin young man with a solid personality. Who would have thought,.......... He came back to our school 2007 on his 30th Anniversary of his graduation. He was the star that night, especially when he gave the Computer Department a check for 100 Thousand dollars. Aren't memories great!

Not for him they weren't. Being bullied for liking dancing that wasn't cool! What's that all about eh? But as a true Gentleman he respected the school enough to bestow upon them a considerable amount of money.

Jackie Burkey. He admits that fame and fortune went to his head for awhile as he was a young man at the time. But, as it does for all of us, we become humbled with time. He knows that he is talented and has changed the world of Irish dancing. He has a family now and knows how fortunate he truly is.

Want to know if Michael ever danced while in pain? As he talks, he told of damage dancing did to legs and back, so truly sorry this had to happen. But no one can ever take his place with the charisma he had. That was a big part of what made me come back to see more! The Chieftain’s were/are great. I did not know they worked with you. I first heard of them while Sissel Kyrkjebø from Norway sang with this group. And I’m proud to say my grandma was right off the boat from Ireland! Glad to see you again, Michael Flatley!❤️ 11/14/20

I don't know for sure the origins of the the style of Irish dance but my theory is so it can be done in small spaces, like a kitchen or pub. Under the British oppression most ordinary Irish people lived in small dwellings, we didn't have access to assembly rooms the like, but would have celebrations and get togethers neighbours houses and such

Mary Magdalene--It's a Dutch show. In Europe, it is common for people to speak four languages in addition to their own. Flatley, being raised in the USA, has American English as his first language; he had to LEARN Gaelic/Irish as an adult. When the host is addressing the television audience, he is speaking Dutch. When he or any of the panel is speaking directly to Michael, they are speaking English with Dutch subtitles on the screen. That isn't rude at all.

From what I can see, Michael has an earphone in his right ear which they use for guests who are not speaking Dutch. Sometimes they use it in talkshows for translation.I think the part which is in Dutch/Flemish language is getting translated in his ear, so he can understand and join the conversation. And when they are talking directly to Michael, they are speaking English. To me It seems not rude at all. It is a Belgian talkshow with Dutch/Flemish spoken language, so it seems logical to me the main language in this program is Dutch/Flemish for the viewers of the program. It hasn’t affected the conversation in my opinion. I have the impression that Michael was able to follow the Dutch part of the conversation very well.

D Stew I think it’s partly down to his accent, and not to do with him deliberately being unpleasant. Some accents flow freely, like Spanish or Italian, some are more clipped sounding.

being a dancer since he was little, why didn't he take care to keep his body slim? like Fred Asteird, for example, I say🤷‍♀️

Slim? You mean healthy ? ☺️ He is still slim I think 😉 I think he didn't listen to his body really well. As a lover of dance and show, I totally get it that he kept dancing, kept going. As a show dancer, you life for the sensation ( and ofcourse he got money) but that positive feeling, that energy from the audience, that pushed him so hard. He lives for this show. His baby 💖 😊
