LOOSE ENDS - 1987 Chevy Blazer TBI to FiTech EFI Conversion PART 1 - UTX

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Today at Ugly Truck, we're tearing into a new project, and I mean PROJECT. This 1987 K5 Blazer will eventually get a 6.0 LS swap, but in the meantime, we'll swap the TBI on the 350 for a FiTech fuel injection system so the owner can put some miles on it. The FiTech system runs on the same 58 PSI fuel pressure as the LS, and also runs the cooling fans, so our plan is to have the fuel and cooling systems ready for the LS swap ahead of time. You know we love saving time and money!

    Not sure about anyone else here… I’m thinking that if you find that many loose bolts, maybe looking into that SBC a little closer might be ideal. I’m hoping that the bottom end doesn’t just fall out on you. Might be faster to stuff that LS now. In the long run (since you are already going thru the motions with fuel delivery and wiring) it might not cost the same swapping over (the cost of motor mounts and your time). I am a strong SBC supporter… I also have a K10 with SBC, running LS fuel delivery and the stock fuse box in preparation for an LS. But my SBC is a known factor. Hoping for the best for your neighbor’s Squarebody experience!!! Rob

    Hey Rob. We have a little bit of the story of the engine that is in it. I think it is probably a Jasper engine from Orielly's. We will prime it again and give it a shot. I just don't have a LS that is rebuilt and ready to go into it right now so I guess we will just have some fun in the mean time. I'm hoping that everything goes good. Thanks for watching. We really appreciate it. Jerry and Emily

    Loved the opening! LOL! I am on a electrical Halloween Nightmare. I want to wire a 'HALLS' Magnetic RPM Switch, and that switch needs to trigger 3 other devices, but I don't want the load to all happen at once, I want a delay between each device. Would a series of relays (with fuses) be sufficient in creating a delay between devices?

  • @UglyTruckExperience

    @UglyTruckExperience

    9 ай бұрын

    Hello Garry. Even running a few of them in series, it will happen at near the speed of light with all of them and have the same effect. Is there a reason that you want them delayed or are you just wanting to avoid blowing a fuse if you have them all on same circuit? Jerry

  • @garrykellogg3215

    @garrykellogg3215

    9 ай бұрын

    @@UglyTruckExperience Yes, there is a reason that I want them 'Staged', and I recently discovered Delay-Off and Delay-On Relays that one can get at 5 seconds, 10 seconds, etc... The Reason I want them staged is for a series of events in the goal for better fuel economy (mainly for Highway driving). I've already installed a 'Torque-Converter LockUp' (that works really well) and now I want to use a 'HALL magnetic switch' to trigger it when it's above 2,200rpm (or 45mph), and after it's on then it will then turn the Exhaust Redirecting valve on (for free exhaust flow) and then that will trigger the 'Air-Ride Bag system' to lower my car 4 inches to reduce air drag. I have a lot to learn and figure out to get my car working the way I want it to.
