The last 3 shops Junior built were about 5 miles down 421 in Hamptonville across from Debbie's Snack Bar and Welborn's Motel at the Asbury Church Road Exit. They were the shops for the Jimmy Spencer #23 and Elton Sawyer #27 teams. The Mansion and farm shops he built after marrying Lisa is at the Windsor Road Exit on Old 421 behind Oak Grove Church Cemetery and can be seen from New 421 on the left going towards Winston-Salem. Junior served breakfast there most Saturday mornings for his friends who wanted to come. Always very humble, drove an older model Ford farm pickup truck and wore his bibbed overalls.

Glad you enjoyed it Henry. I had a great time exploring Wilkes County. Thanks for watching and have a blessed day.
Really enjoyed your video. Loved seeing the old sign of the last race at Wilkesboro. The walk around the town and seeing the old stores and sights was really cool. Junior's race shops was so close to his house. It would be so cool if Junior was still alive today and share some history of the shops. Junior did so much for the sport or racing and was a great driver and owner. I can remember Waltrip and Bonnet driving those Budweiser cars back in the day. Thanks so much for the amazing video. Would love to see this one day myself and I would love to stop by and pay my respects to a legend and see his gravesite. Hope you have great weekend! You got any big plans this Labor Day weekend?
