i rather have pens go for brady takchuk since there been rumors hes been on trade block and that type we need the most then marner

My personal thoughts as to why many Pens players seem to struggle is Sully's tendency to throw his lines in a blender, at a whim. Guys don't seem to have enough time to bond and get used to their linemates. If Pettersson and Karlsson work well together...leave them alone as a pair...when Letang's LD gets injured, don't move Pettersson, give Letang someone else. In camp, establish your pairings and have tell them to get to know each other so well that you can read each other's minds.

With Toronto's current roster needs, it'll be more likely that Jarry and, maybe, Graves, or possibly POJ's rights go to Toronto, for Marner. I'd only see a third team involved for salary retention purposes.

Pens need to offer picks and/or prospect back to leads for Marner

If the Pens could get Marner and only have to give up Jarry and St. Ivany that's a no brainer. Marner would help tremendously and it would help balance out the lineup, because he would bump Drew O'Connor down to the 3rd line, where he should be honestly. Then the top 9 would be like Rust-Crosby-Marner, Rakell-Malkin-Bunting, Puustinen-Eller-O'Connor. That top 9 sounds actually pretty decent.

I would like to see how Marner would do with Sid, or Geno. Toronto's been hit as being "soft" for quite some time, with no real leadership, or fire, and during Marner's early career he had to deal with Babcock playing mind games with him. Can Sid's "ultimate grinder" mentality put an end to the "Mitch don't go in the corners" thing? Can Geno's fire catch in Mitch's heart?

As far as Mitch not going into the corners, well Sid didn't break Kessel of that so thinking not here either. Would never ship St. Ivany either.

With an AAV of nearly $11mil, it's a no for me unless we strike out on Reinhart, Stamkos, Marchessault, Lindholm, and potentially Guentzel who should all be less expensive. His post-season press conference wasn't a good look either. However, the Penguins clearly need a 1st line winger, so it's not a bad idea, but I'd be massively concerned about goal-tending afterwards.

Correction. Kempe is a year older then marner but has 2 more seasons at 5.5 mil a year

Dubas loves his guys we all know that, but unless Marner is willing to look himself in the mirror and tell himself that he needs to make himself look WORTH $11m not just in the regular season but in the playoffs as well. Then I don't think it's worth signing let alone trading away Ivy with Jarry in the proposal you brought up. Cause the POJ and Ivy 3rd pairing this season was something that can be brought to help out rebuilding our shutdown line. They ain't Dumo, they ain't no Shultz but there's something there that can really make our blue line more mature and stronger. This struggle for a 1st line winger after trading Jake makes me wish we kept McCann or actually protected Turbo from the Seattle Expansion Draft. Again, it might just only be the 'Toronto Curse' or just the pressure of playing there in Toronto that gets to the team in the 'yoffs. But, I do think it's time for Marner to start back again off a fresh clean slate and play for a new team. Far too long for that talent to be used up in a franchise that can only muster up 1 win in the second round. But that's just me looking at it from the outside! lol :] ty for coming to my ted talk

Marner to Pens makes perfect sense because Dubas would be willing to extend Marner at $14 million per year or even more if Marner asks for it.

Anyone get a charity bag this year? The only thing I got worth while was EK65 signed puck

POJ needs to gain like 20 lbs. He gets manhandled in front of his own net regularly.

brady takchuk is more player rather go for then marner cause brady is more playoff type player

Put Letang and Karlsson as top D pairing along with 2 pairs that can play solid D and you’ll get >40 minutes of offensive zone time each game. Bolster 3 good forward lines and pens are easily over 100 points.

Also meaning we don’t necessarily need a blockbuster trade to set this team right. The last month of this season proved that we have the players that make this a team that can compete to make the playoffs and compete in the playoffs (although not battle tested for a couple years, but those trades can be saved for the trade deadline to further bolster the team as needed).

They wouldn’t. Especially for a goalie no one else wants. Especially while their young team has been built around Doughty and Kopitar. Kevin Fiala (or PLD if anyone wants him) are much more likely to be moved if they felt need to shake things up.

Trade Erik Karlsson for Mitch Marner so the salary cap works out. Sign Chris Tanev to replace EK65. Get Brandon Tanev.

I would be surprised if this trade happens. Jarry and st ivany to la kings. If the kings wanted them I would forget about marner and see if kings would trade adrian kempe in return. Marner's a good player but that aav is to high and im not a fan of 1 year rentals when your trying to also build for the future. Kempe is cheaper and younger and a player coming into his own

Marner is a NO from me. Not a fan of his work ethic and how he acts like a princess. I’m not willing to give up St. Ivany. He’s just scratching the surface. I’m beyond done with Jarry and his inconsistencies

Why would you even entertain this ludicrous proposal? Jarry and St Ivany have 0 value. Short of Marner stating that he will only go to Pittsburgh (as he has NMC), nothing even similar to this will happen. Might as well trade POJ, Reilly Smith, and a 7th for Draisaitl too.

Hard pass. A very talented player but he lacks a work ethos and a fighting spirit. Far better options out there that actually meet the Pen's needs. It would only be possible if they shed one of the salaries of the "Core Four." Who are you going to send in return to shed salary? Crosby is going to command a big salary increase that will be the big pill to swallow this year so this is just a bunch of baloney.
