*****UPDATE****** Shame on me for not stating this in the video! You can seal this mat with a clear Rustolium spray paint sealer! I use one with a Matte finish👍🏻 I did not seal mine because I am keeping it in doors ☀️

I did these one year and everyone loved them. A cheaper tip... I called carpet stores and got discontinued carpet samples for free. 😁

My father was an amazing artist and about 30 years ago he took door mats and painted not just the last name of my siblings and myself, he also included our favorite flower. Mine had sunflowers on it. He was ahead of the times! Wish I had a picture of it. Thank you for reminding me of that special memory. 🦋

As far as little mistakes, I love them, ever since I heard them called “the hand of the artist.” And before that I heard one that was approximately “never try to be perfect, because only God is perfect, so you’ll never be happy!” Perfect crafts look like the were purchased ready made. I don’t want mine to look like that. Thanks for all your suggestions Kelly. I’ve been crafting with my Mom and my Grandmother since I was five, and my Grandmother taught me how to make a pair of shorts on her treadle. I couldn’t reach the treadle, so she rocked it for me. I also caught my first fish when camping with my Grandfather. I have never stopped since then, until recently, when my memory became damaged. So I cherish you and others who can help me continue to make things. It’s the most important thing to me. Bless you and yours, and thank you for the joy you bring to me❣️🙏🏼 Kelly! If it’s alright with you, I would like to teach some of your crafts to the women at our Senior Center, or get one of the crafty ladies to teach some. We would definitely credit you. We have a little shop called the Peddlers Shop, where we sell crafts, but the are mostly not taught in a class, it’s all been individual, so you can imagine how some things turn out. But many of yours are almost fool proof, and affordable enough that we could maybe make a little profit. Would that be all right with you? I could send some photos to you also. I’m having eye surgery followed by dental surgery in the next few months, but I’m hoping I’ll be well enough to start classes in the fall. Oh, I’m more excited than I’ve been in months. I just love the creators on KZread. I just wish they treated you better. There are so many of us who are home bound, and youtube is a life saver. There are some other venues such as Vimeo that some people are starting to use.mi hope it works out, or better yet, they learn to take care of you guys. By the way, I noticed that some creators are saying in writing and orally that there channels are for adults. I don’t know if it works, but it should at least be a start. Keep up the work that is helping others so much.🧝🏾‍♀️

I would also reccomend using the rug grip on the bottom! They sell packs at DT and one pack is enough to glue on the bottom of each rug. These rugs slide VERY easily. I learned this when my dog ran outside and the rug slid right with him. Lol!!

This would be so cool to do with car mate's for your car, you can do silly designs ect...🤗😁

I’ve stenciled on these mats before but I never thought about adding the jute rope. What a great idea! It really adds a lot!

Love these. Easy enough for 3rd & 4th graders to make as Christmas gifts. Makes it better looking with the rope.

I love this idea. I stencil a lot and I use makeup wedges.

Such a clever gift idea! Love it! The whole way through I was wondering about wear as a welcome mat, but as a gift set I could give a small bottle and paint brush for touch ups too. Then that may well encourage others toward creativity.

Years ago, we made magic carpets for a princess party using these mats. Made Stencils with poster board. My Mom made tassels and we glued them to the corners. The kids loved them.

I agree, the rope does give it a more finished look. I like the the look of the brown as well, but seems like it would be easy to paint black if you don't! I have some good friends getting married in a couple months, this might be what I make and give them. As always, thanks for sharing, love your videos.❤

Wrap your stencil brush about halfway to 2/3 of the way down with blue painter's tape to support the bristles while stenciling.
