Keep up the fantastic work, I really enjoy watching. Your stuff is thought provoking, and it makes me say to myself "look what you missed when you had an opportunity to learn in metal shop when you were in school". P.S I especially liked your video when you built your own version of an electric scooter, and at my age "74" in March, I really dig the idea of learning how to ride an EUC (electric unicycle ) so, having said that, could you build an electric unicycle? It might take some research on your part to design the electronics to make it work the way they work commercially, however judging from what I've seen you do, it would be a piece of cake! Keep making Great things happen!

@Reman1975 Жыл бұрын
Bench or pedestal grinders always have a reverse thread nut on the left hand side wheel. Without it being threaded this way the nut tends to loosen slightly each time the grinders used. Eventually, if you're lucky, you'll turn it on, the shaft spins up, and leaves the loose wheel just freewheeling. If you're unlucky, the nut falls off in use, drops to the bottom of the guard, wedges between the spinning wheel and one of the guards captive nuts, and if the wheel still has enough momentum when this happens it'll shatter with an impressive level of explosive force. I'd be tempted at bare minimum to fit a second lock nut to that side, or maybe drill the spindle and nut, then lock wire it in place when fully tightened. Either way, you'll still need to give the tightness of that nut a check regularly. Apart from that one thing, it looks very nicely thought out and made.
