3:57: As a truck driver, you're actually correct about this. We're trained to not leave enough space for a car on the inside for this exact reason.

Ive driven defensively since day 1 of driving around 5 years ago. Havent gotten into any accidents, but soo many times ive had to react spontaneously to somebody doing something stupid that could have caused an accident

My short time in New West today; Feb 12 (30 minutes) I was: 1). Cut off by a UPS delivery driver that ran a stop sign. 2). Watched pedestrians on a flashing lit crosswalk by Royal Columbian (father and little girl) have to jump back from three separate drivers that ran the light 3). One driver that drove along the shoulder as if it was a driving lane, and 4). Cut off by a driver that that had no clue how to stay in their turning lane at a two turning lane intersection. This is out of control!

@6:22 That spot on Lougheed in PoCo is horrible for that, especially when it rains and it dark/low light. That's my route to work in Maple Ridge, and I actively stay aware in that stretch because people are always going strait when the lane bends around the bus stop. You can even see 2 cars do it there in this video. I see that almost daily, they should honestly consider redesigning it.

PoCo really needs to do something about it. I have also seen multiple cars not following the lines, because in rain those black lines reflect the light and become white, while the white lines become impossible to see

No joke! Usually I see videos where a dump truck is driving around WITH THE BED RAISED, and so this was a first for me to see a crane truck doing the exact same thing by driving with the supports extended. Forgive me if I"m not using the correct jargon.

I know I drive past some of this crash locations and think about the story of what that area has been through lol

tip for looking left and then right... look left momentarily, look right but hold your gaze so you can judge speed of the incoming (if any) vehicles and then look left again to be able to gauge speed of those who will hit you first... works most times.

Once a Bike was Lane Splitting(not Legal in Alberta). Since Traffic was stopped I figured it was a good time to open my Door as it wasn't fully Latched...

6:22 is that lougheed through poco area? That spot is actually pretty difficult at times when the light is at the right angle and the road is wet with the cracks and faded lines

1/4 Tesla Drivers + 1/4 Mercedes Drivers + 1/4 BMW Drivers + 1/4 Chinese Drivers

When I lived in Ontario I would chalk up most collisions to incompetence/inabilty/stupidity or medical events. Now I've lived on Vancouver Island for 4 years and assume every collision is a DUI. Its crazy how prevalent drunk driving is here, seemingly.

6:01, No! Driving on the shoulder is totally irresponsible and annoying for drivers to use the shoulder as a driving lane! Shoulder’s are only allowed for drivers to use it in case of problems including car accidents, stalled vehicles, medical incident, and etc!

I just failed my driver's exam due to someone who tried to overtake me when I was merging on an avenue 🤦🏻‍♂️

this is just normal everyday driving for vancouver. nothing to see here🤣 it's also part of the reason icky bicky rates are thru the roof in the lower mainland.

3:38, Because people don’t know how to drive properly, that’s why! If people don’t know how to drive properly, then they should lose their licence big time or go back to driving school and learn to be a better driver next time! This is outrageous when people don’t follow the rules on the road!

The blue car at 4:00 most certainly made contact with the front wheel of the dump truck.... Watch it hop around the turn.

I think people who a lot of this kind of crazy/stupid stuff just think/feel like they won't get caught. They know what they are doing but if you cannot or have no ability to enforce the laws, they feel it is a free pass to do w/e they want to.

1:18 is the parking lot to ICBC driver services Langley. Could have been someone doing a road test...lol.

0:50 was recently a witness to an accident like this! It was traumatic even if i was not involved at all!!

Driving on the shoulder is not new. I saw it happening in Vancouver back in the 1980's.

1:11, The person in the van was going out of the parking spot at the parkcade, and instead of going left or right he ended up crashing the pillar at the parkcade!

That biker who stalled his bike looked like he was, shall we say, affiliated with a group that enjoys using loud Harleys and riding in large groups on occasion.

5:51, #1 vehicle was parked his car on the bike lane! #2, vehicle blocked the bike lane and the crosswalk for no reason! #3, car in front of vehicle #2, was blocking vehicle #2 from getting into the parkcade!

surrey King George hub. Dumb design as they have never have thought what happens when they put the parking lot far away from the restaurants where those food delivery drivers need to access. Obviously don't justify them parking illegally, but people will follow the path of least resistant. should see that roundabout behind the POV car, at least 3 cars always parks in the roundabout lol.

4:02 truck drivers are trained to perform an S-turn maneuver that prevents a car coming up the inside of a turn. I think you have a large viewing platform showing bad drivers in the lower mainland and BC but this channel fails to use this platform as a teaching aid that it can so easily be used as. Inform drivers of actual road rules, so few actually know them.

I was taught to never go inside of an oversized vehicle that by necessity is making a wide right turn. I don't know if they stopped teaching that in driving school, or if some people do not remember.
