I went to Loma Linda for seven (7) years, for my Surgical Training, and it was wonderful. Of course my training was like getting a drink out of a Fire Hydrant...they really really teach you a lot of things...it is a top rated Medical Community, with all phases of the Health Sciences. Their Motto is "To Make Man Whole" and by that they mean to consider all of the Person. Physically, Mentally, and Spiritually. And yes, the key is being a Vegetarian, Exercise, Rest, and have a Peaceful Spiritual Mind. Also, that we are made by God, and we should honor his Creation, and take care of it, as best we can. They also try to live by the Golden Rule, and besides that help their fellow man. They are great people, and I am glad that they are the "Blue Zone" for all of North and South America, and that is saying something. By the way I am just a "young one" as I am only 76, and was "only" a surgeon for 48 straight years. I plan to live to be 96.

Thank you for being part of the solution. Thank you for being a good example of what a diet without meat can do for you. Being vegan is even better for you, our environment, and the animals. Going vegan is the single most effective way to help our environment. "Eating a vegan diet could be the “single biggest way” to reduce your environmental impact on earth, a new study suggests. Researchers at the University of Oxford found that cutting meat and dairy products from your diet could reduce an individual's carbon footprint from food by up to 73 per cent.Sep 24, 2020" www.independent.co.uk/life-style/health-and-families/veganism-environmental-impact-planet-reduced-plant-based-diet-humans-study-a8378631.html#:~:text=Eating%20a%20vegan%20diet%20could,up%20to%2073%20per%20cent.

@@mountainrock7682 Sabbath was made for man so you stay in remembrance. I don't see it as a sign, not even sure what that means when you are to observe. Sabbath means Saturday so no mystery there but if belonging to any congregation has not brought you the Holy Spirit somethings wrong. Those with Ears to Hear on the righteous path should receive that blessing or something is wrong. Everyday is actually the key, the path is straight and narrow and no unclean Spirits will take up their place in the Church, the Body of Christ.

Yes, but diet is important. Trying to eat what is generally considered helpful and avoid what is not. Then refine your diet even further by eating for your blood type as much as possible nut generally cut down quantity you eat and when and how eg don't eat fruits or dink beverages other than one glass of wine a day, preferably red, during a meal. Only between main meals. Plus Enough plain water. At least one glass on rising, to cleanse the body and one before bed, to prevent overnight dehydtation that can contribute to heart attacks. I find the less I eat, the better I feel and just have one main meal a day ie at breakfast or lunch, not dinner, unless staying up very late. Exercise is not that valuable, really. I try to move daily as much as I need to naturally to live but not by doing specific exercise sessions eg gym, unless I happen to like the actity for other reasons eg dance because I am creative or walking, to think, commune with nature etc. Exercise is work, in the final analysis and, to my thinking, unless your work is fun for you or productive, it is a complete waste of resources. Actually, pretty sinful, really... Burning up energy and resources, wasting time for nothing... I get my exercise by avoid unnecessary use of labour saving devices eg walk everywhere, use a broom, not a vacuum cleaner etc to sweep a hard floor etc. We use far too many labour saving devices when totally unnecessary. Just because we are too lazy. Then we have to do gym to pose weiggt, caused precisely by many such devices, often used in cooking and food creation, from the growing to its transportation eg shopping, to food storage eg refrigerators, to its preparation eg stoves, crock pots, blenders, mixers, grinders etc. Use none if possible or opt for ones that operate on mechanical human strength ie old fashioned devices, like a manual egg beater, not an electric one. This way, you not only help save the planet, you also exercise your body doing everyday meaningful work that has a reaon, unlike pointless gym sessions that have none and just waste resources, human energy in an unproductive way. And when you think of how much of the best world human energy is wasted this way ie young millennials who are fanatical about gym, to the point of it being like a religion... If they used that energy to do useful productive work, mindful of how they move to do it the world would be far better off, less polluted eg mothers would walk their kids to/from school, instead of driving them. Far more heathy ie get fit, safer ie few cars to cause road kill, more sociable, which is a long evity and mental health factor, far less pollution ie young millennials need to put their money where their mouth is. This is a completely different way of thinking and being and far better. Not just for individual welfare but for the entire community, if they all did it. But, since most won't, those who wish to live long healthy lives need to detach from the toxicity and very bad ways of modern mainstream society, question everything about it, reject most of it as unnecessary, irrelevant, worthless or downright toxic, evil, dangerous etc. Much of it is. One really does not need much to be contented, healthy, live well and long and our needs as humans are not just material. They are spiritual and emotional, too eg community, peace and contemplation, love and friendship, self expression etc.

@Carpe Diem This is not quite the answer to your question, but I find it interesting that under Judaism which is a very Saturnian religion Saturday or Saturn's day is the Sabbath. Yahweh/ Jehovah is an archetype of Saturn. He is sort of an angry old man who requires a blood sacrifice. Christianity is more of a solar religion. Jesus is the Son/sun of God who spends three days in the tomb ( the winter solstice) and rises again. Most Christians celebrate the Sabbath on SUNday.

That’s a good breakfast. Yes. But so is bacon and eggs. Bacon and eggs are far superior nutritionally than oatmeal. They are both part of a healthy lifestyle though, contrary to popular belief. The only reason bacon gets a bad rap is because of the saturated fat fear, but that’s slowly getting better over the years with a better understanding of it in the science community. The only things you should be actively trying to avoid are excess sugars, vegetable oils, refined carbs and trans fats. Oatmeal, berries and Bacon and eggs don’t fall under any of those so it’s fair game! Enjoy! Just don’t pair bacon and eggs with oatmeal. One or the other lol.

@@Gshaftelconstant That seems to be true yes. It’s still interesting though how everyone claims you have to eat fish twice a week for a healthy lifestyle yet hardly anyone eats much fish in the blue zones. The basis seems to be as you say social cohesion, fruits and veggies and exercise. The rest must be a bonus I guess.

There is no hard evidence that vegetarianism necessarily makes you healthier. It can actually make you unhealthy, even. I am a rare blood type that, unlike, the O , most common type among Anglo whites, does not require much animal protein and very little red meat at all, just a little lean lamb. So I just didn't bother with meat. Not out of religiius conviction, just no interest in eating meat. And I became anaemic as a result. I was told to eat red meat with dark green vegetables eg, one of my safe ones that cause no allergy problems like even good natural foods can do , ie silver beet. And anaemia be gone! It was hard at first, tring to eat a bit of lamb daily and silver beet, hardly foids I would normally like, preferring to live on fresh fruits, loaded with natural sugar, even if you add none and which lead to fatness and diabetes, for my genetic make up. The anaemia was fixed doing this and my energy and colour returned,my hair stopped getting whiter and whiter and returned to my normal darker blonde I originally was, naturally. So, I think most of us do need a little bit of red meat, at least. But, how much is enough? Some eat way too much meat and it can be bad for health, in excess. We are provided by the Supreme Being with all we, as His living creations, need to survive as long as He requires us to on earth. We should not waste it or consume more than we need. If we respect that fundamental law of the Supreme Being, God, Nature, call it what you will, all will remain in balance in both us as individuals as the globe, society. And all will be well.

@@someguy2135 I'd like to know where in the Bible it says that we must all be vegetarians. We are told to fast in some parts of the Bible, I know that. But throughout the Bible they are all having these wild big feasts, slaughtering fattAnd dancing, singing drinking way too much wine and generalky being pretty loud and social, never doing gym sessions to work off the excess kilos all this partying would have stacked on... So, I doubt there is any valid Biblical basis for not eating meat. Throughout the Bible, they slaughter lambs, calves etc (but no chickens, I note). For all their many parties they have, consuming copious amounts of wine, read etc. So veganism seems to have no Biblical foundation. Just one of those things different brands of Christians tack on. Like all the many non Biblically based practices the Roman Catholic Church tacked on over the ages, which the Protestant Reformation sought to get rid of, to get back to the true Biblical foundations of the Christian faith ie fundamentalism. But, what we are now seeing is that the non Catholic Christians are doing the same thing. And what is particularly sickening and distressing is how they are now allowing some very toxic, evil influences, like feminism, dictate their religious practices, when there is no basis for this in the Bible. The Bible does not oppress or degrafe or undervalue women, like feminists claim. It simply gives them different roles from men. And they are oretty solid, sensible, logical roles for women. Very healthy and good for them as mothers, wives, daughter, sisters, cousins, friends, grandmothers, community women, artists, stars, queens etc. Even prostitutes, beggars and high society women...Almost every imaginable female type is represented in the Bible. There are mistresses, concubines, mothers, lovers, girls, old women, powerful women, poor powerless girls, bad ass tough chicks, nice girls.. Women are not unrepresented. They just do not appear as often as all the men fighting all their battles, claiming land, fornicating, breeding, plundering, killing and doing all the usual masculine stuff guys do.Which is frequently and very publicly. Unlike female stuff, which is lower profile stuff, centred around love of home, family, kids, animals, one man(plus the odd occasional discrete affair..) That is why we don't see them often in the Bible and always doing female stuff when they do appear eg grieving at the crucifixion, worrying about the missing body, Mary Magdalene giving Jesus a bit of beauty salon aromatherapy, foot massage type treatment, his mum giving instructions, a few sexy dancers going a bit too far and those silly young girls partying so long and hard, clubbing etc that their lamps burnt out...Heaps of women in the Bible!?! Alk being natural women, doing their thing. There are even bitchy fighting whingeing "sisters", pone complaining about having to do housework and being a nobody, whilst her glamour puss creative sister is out gallivanting around socially, having fun... The Bible is a very interesting literary work. As for wearing of the veil and head covering, like some very traditional Christian women still do to this day in southern Europe, this was not to hide and oppress women. It was plain sense and fashion. It protected from sun, cold, wind etc as they worked. And ask any modern Itlaian mother and she will tell you it is very bad for women to get tok much hot sun on their bare head or get it cold and wet in rain or go outside with freshly washed wet hair or having it flying loose when working, because it vets in your face, hangs into the pot of whatever you are cooking and causes accidents (like happened to me once, with very long loose hair, cooking). And even if coùrting or in social situations where you are being introduced, addressed in conversation etc, people need to see your bare, transparent, honest face to assess your trustworthiness as an honourable woman. Hair flopping all over yiur eyes and face to conceal it almost immediately puts you into the female trash category. Which is why their girls often don't have a fringe or it is a small, short cut one. It hides the face too much. The veil was not just for feminine sexual type modesty, protection and humblesness and respect for God in church. Ouside church, it served as a work safety and social thing. By keeping hair off the face. As they a had long hair and many still do. No fringes or loose, sloppy bits hanging out allowed or loose sloppy braids and "messy buns", horsey tails etc, like are fashionable in this millennial feminist era. Fashionable because they suggest sexually free, loose, deprave female lifestyles, formerly not socially tolerated. Like now, where girls rock up to work in offices etc wearing their greasy, dirty, "messy bun" or frisky horse tail hair dos that say "Look at me. I am single and available but I have such an active, dirty sex life I don't even get time to fix up my hair after such wild nights out with the boys, the transwomen, trans males, gays, ones partially transitioned.. I'such a busy woman, single mum with many kids to different fathers, too. I have to worry about them, too. So, no time to do my hair neatly and respectably for work in the office. And, besides, who cares, anyway?" But customers notice. And wonder just how little confidence one can have in the competence and diligence of such a female, looking like this, with dirty, messy bun, dread locks, rainbow hair, greasy long fringe covering her/his/its eyes. How could such a bureaucratic female eg in the Public Service possibly get your papers and such in correct, accurate, trustworthy order, even with a computer which compounds the mess and confusion? Because we all know that to err is human. But, to really stuff things up big time, just introduce more technology, like government keeps advocating and doing. To make things, faster, more efficient, smoother, reliable. But the more technology they introduce, the slowe service becomes, theworse it gets, more stuff ups and serious errors, now blamed on "the computer", never the dumb, useless operator behind it with their "messy buns" (a genders wear these now and not just on their heads...).The real problem is not the technology. It is the people in the jobs using it. Too sloppy. If we have so much spread of disease, it is because of sloppy personal standards. Imagine eating out at some exclusive restaurant and then discover the wait staff etc never wash their hands after toilet, wipe their noses, cough etc and then use these same filthy hands to cook or hand you your meal? And medical type staff eg in nursing homes or even nurses, no longer required to wear a uniform and cover haur, so their flops everwhere and germs on their everyday clothes can easily infect you because I saw many such workers who wear the same clothes to work, day in day out, without washing them, because they look clean, but obviously are germ laden. And they claim they "care" for the elderly and sick, when their filthy personal hygiene standards and slack standards of some hospitals aged care places, clinics etc actually contribute to killing those entrusted to their care. I'd avoid such places.

Meat, eggs, cheese, and milk are very expensive in Japan. Fish is slightly cheaper. In general, food is more expensive there than in my home country. Fruits and vegetables are extremely fresh, tasty, and seasonal. Most traditional Japanese foods are nearly vegetarian except for fish stock. I lived in Japan and our school cook was very traditional. Rice plus 4 side dishes and 2 bites of fruit (lunch & dinner had fruit). Extremely SMALL portions. No drinks had calories- tea or water. I lost 100 pounds without dieting. They use lots of briefly boiled vegetables that are then seasoned. Bites of meat only and rarely, never a big amount. Fish twice a week in a 3 ounce serving. No dairy, very little fat. Tofu about 5 times a week. No processed food. Steamed rice in portions of 3/4 cup for women and 1 cup for men at EVERY meal. Had to walk or ride bike mostly because transportation was expensive. This is why Japanese are slim if they eat traditionally. Now many Japanese are getting fat because not eating traditionally!
