This is what KZread needs, very informative and helps people with their questions that are always left unanswered.
Sick mustache dude
I don't have the money to become a patreon for any channel (broke university student and all) but this is probably the only channel I would consider. I'm not 100% sure why. I think it's because it blows me away how difficult some of these videos would be to make. Keep making all of your awesome videos, cruncie!

Dude you’ve been a great help ever since I got my first longboard and I cannot explain how many videos I’ve searched on KZread and then ur videos always come up first, thanks for the zealous bearings video and for this also
Very good explanation! Really liking the new videos, it's good to see you making more close and personal videos, complements the channel well and makes it more approachable. Bonus points for magnificient moustache :)

I found this out through trial and error, but HEARING it makes it make so much more sense. I found my happy medium with Venom 88a SHRs (though I run 91a boardside on my DH setup). The stock Paris bushings are a harder duro, but I don't like their rebound. The SHRs are more snappy, which feels great coming out of a carve... I'm a nerd. This video was helpful.
Love the videos and I love how you've become more open with the content you post. I just got into snowboarding and bought a sector 9 pintail for daddies board shop. Ill keep watching if you keep posting
Although I've never bought into the "TIGHTEN UR TRUCKS" mantra, this was extremely helpful. Please, do more of these videos!
I'm really liking how you have branched out on your channel I can see these videos becoming very popular.
Really useful tip, thanks crunchie. i hope you post something like this often! Love from Indonesia :)
Crunchie dude you are the skater I aspire to ride like. Loves this tutorial video and can't wait for any more to come, as well as the skating vids. Keep doing what your doing and all the best. Chur
I was surprised, but this video is actually more informative than a lot of videos put out by shops.
This video was so easy to follow and full of nice tips. Thanks man!
this was sick, super detailed and informative. Good job dude :)
Awesome video Crunchie!
This looks like the start of a great series!
dope video. clear, consice, and to the point. thank you!
Thanks Crunchie!
This makes a lot of sense! I was bombing a small hill, not too big nor too small and I was putting the weight towards my front so that I don’t have the speed wobbles... I then remembered (after watching this video) that I kinda did tighten my trucks a bit tight so I’ll probably have to adjust that right now
Love theese setup vids chunchie!
you know what, you gave a good answer in the first 30 seconds and then used the rest of the video to explain yourself, good on you sir for not making a 10 min video before the answer and 10 min after the answer, im subbing even tho im not even too interested and i will watch as many as i can because i want to fully support this man from this alone
One super simple tip on figuring out if you need harder or softer bushings is to tighten the nut until you cant turn the washer and the bushing by hand without using excess force. If it's too loose or too tight, swap the bushings yo.

Christian Teplitzkyvich-MacPurvis This is what I do. When I skate vert I know with a new set of bones hard bushings I tighten to the point that the washer doesn’t jiggle, then tighten 2 full turns and I’m sweet to go. As the bushings soften I gradually tighten by a quarter turn. If I have to do that to the point of them being tightened 3 full turns I’ll get a new set and start over!
I don't longboard, but I skate street and vert.I found this video very informative and just subscribed to your channel.
I was driving my car out from garage to go to work and my phone pops, i look to the seat and see a notification... *_Crunchie uploaded a video: Longboarding Tips..._* I nearly cried... also good friday to everyone and have a nice weekend everybody!
Super helpful. Exactly the info I was looking for. Prefer a tighter feel, but am also a pretty heavy guy, so wasn't sure if I should go tighter or get harder bushings. This cleared it up perfectly.

Thomas Anreise Don’t be afraid to mix and match as well. Not that I’m good by any stretch of the imagination but I found having a harder (91A) bushing board side and a softer (81A) one road side meant I could avoid speed wobbles but still carve/turn almost as well as running just the 81s
Love the pointers, plus the moustache - just like mine! I’m subscribing!
That board is sick!
I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL
Fantastic tutorial sir, thank you!
As soon as a i get a job, I'm becoming a patron for now i just have to like the vids, I really like your channel been watching for a while now, probably the worst at long boarding, thx for the vid i always faceplant due to speed wobbles
Starting off i love your stache
This was actually super helpful
Me watching this realizing that I’ve been adjusting the 4 bolt things actually connected to the board 👁👄👁

Very informative, especially for a newbie like me. Thanks!! :)
You should make a video of how to do toeside slides around tight corners. That's what i'm having trouble with right now.
I need all the tips I can get thanks for the video
God Crunchie talk about the love you have for longboard and how it changed your daily life. Ps: great mustache

Crunchie hey Crunchie I have bought my first board like 2 months ago Arbor BUG PREMIUM 2016 V, *36 X 8.5 | París 150mm 50 degree trucks | 65MM X 78A Arbor Mosh Wheels*, I live in NYC so the 'cold' is right around the corner. I wanted to spend at least 250.00$ for a good freestyle/downhill like the Arbiter DK maybe from Muir skate to have it custom made, what parts would you recommend on that deck for downhill/sliding I'm 5'8 175lbs - 180lbs I carry a lot of muscle, pretty much all around because I live in NYC and I would like it to commute as well... Or I could just always switch back to the board I have now to get in and out of those oblivious pedestrians and use the Arbiter DK for strict downhill/sliding etc. I'm actually a fast learner (very athletic), I feel very comfortable on my board now, according to this guy that works at Zumiez he saids the way I keep my trucks (loose) is the right thing to do and get use to, he thought I was riding for yrs, but I'm comfortable being able to turn THAT MUCH as opposed to having the trucks fairly tight. Thanx. I bombed this hill here in NYC on Amsterdam, the ones who live here or have seen this hill know what I'm talking about. No helmet, or gear and cluttered traffic... That hill is EXTREMELY Steep I was going at least 40-50mph tears came out my eyes from the wind gust, CRAZY jelly legged speed wobbles, I bombed that with pretty much the board that described above (Arbor bug premium 2016) When I was at the bottom of the hill I honestly said to myself how on hell nothing bad happened to me. Next time I go for that hill *I will wear GEAR*, that's for sure... A hill around my way makes me go about 28-30 no where near what I experienced in Amsterdam in NYC.

Cool video
Nice vid, nice stash

I run the hardest bushing super tight, way more stable but to each his own, my longboard is a Burton Dragon snowboard with the biggest Independant trucks they make and 76mm Gravity wheels, carves like a dream even over manhole covers. 😊
I feel like you gotta mention some people have preferences that stray outside this guide. Personally I like a tighter/slightly-dead feel, so I either tighten the stock bushings until they bulge or go for bushings above my weight class. Thats just what works for me and some people may ride better on the looser end of the spectrum. But no doubt, this is a good guide for people who are unsure of what they're doing.

Of course you can do what you want. This is just a guide for best practice
I don't know how many runs you have done in Australia, but the BTB (Beat the Bastard) hill, Mt Stuart, one of the best race runs in Queensland, we have a boi running 150 Paris casts, double yellows front, double greens back. He's smashing it.
Your such a good youtuber
oh dang sweet stache bro

thank you
Thanks for the info! I love that deck! Great shape and cool graphic. What is it?
I finally found a longboarder who is close to home!
Yes I need that man I'm from south Africa I like your video man
Awesome video crunchie. I did a downhill run with my friend the other day and he asked me how tight my trucks were. I glanced at his and saw that he had clearly over tightened his trucks. I said I run my trucks as loose and possible. He couldn't believe me. He was astonished and speechless. 😂. Again awesome video keep up the good work 😁

More setup tips👍👌
where have you been for the past 2 months? WE MISS YOU
Hey Crunchie, can u maybe make a video about the best longboard wheels? Sliding and downhill. btw, which wheels do you use for your usual rides?
1:44 - 1:57 btw I just wanted to mark this JIC

Any idea what happened?
Crunchie please please make a video about speed wobbles
Wow, thank you so much!!! This video helps a lot. Thank you for all the great content you provide, and for inspiring me to keep on riding day in and day out. Also I have a question if you don't mind: I ride gullwing reverse trucks (48 degree base plate, 89a rad bushings), and they have a reversible hanger. Now flipping it lowers the ride height by 1/4 of an inch, but If I flip them I need include risers. Would you recommend I run them unflipped, with no risers, or flipped with a 1/4 inch spacer
@CrunchieLongboarding
6 жыл бұрын
Austin Teters unless you're planning on going over 80kph on a regular basis, I'd definitely leave them unflipped

Crunchie ok thank you!!
A question I forgot to ask is how would u compare bones reds to the zealous bearings? Life span? Speed? Resistance? How often should I clean them? Pls leave a response I’m on a tight budget and these two are the ones I narrowed down to, thank you so much man🤟
yes good
That moustache really works
I keep my trucks on the tighter side. I weigh 180 lb so it keeps me stable and I can turn well. Now I'm thinking of experimenting with 99A bushings.
Can you do a slide tutorial video, I can stand-up slide at speed but have never managed to be able to put my hand down with slide gloves and slide with my hand down so it would help alot.
Une des meilleures vid d'explication concernant le sujet. Dommage que je ne l'ai pas vu quand j'ai commencé le longB. Mais paie toi un coiffeur ;)
Nice tips. I have an electric skateboard, and my board has 2 bushings on each side. One for road side and one for deck side. Would your tips be the same for these kind of boards ? Thanks
Very helpful video! I have a question. I am using Rey Trucks is it good enough for racing and bombing hills? Beginner here :) THANKS!
Hi Crunchie, you are one of my most favorite YT channels out there and I love skating and downhill longboarding. I learned a few slides on a straight road with pushing as fast as I can. But I can't progress any further because I can`t find good hills around with low traffic for beginners... what can I do?
@CrunchieLongboarding

venom bushings are good :)
Yoo this video was made on my birthday 2 years ago
Hey there. Ty for the tips. Question: for slide, i need to loose the trucks more or tighten?
Do you do any group rides in wellington? (I'm new to long boarding and is interested in doing a ride with a group in wellington)
Please make more videos
I got a question. How affects the angle of your trucks? It would be great if you make a video about it, thanks!
Get the right bushings for your weight and keep em loose so you can have more precise response
Can you make a video on decks please
Any difference in theses instructions with electric boosted boards?
i had mine loose to the point where i think like 2 threads were holding the nut to the board lost a nut and the next couple days after i bailed going off my board close enough to 30mph (wear a helmet) when he says make sure you don't wobble, MAKE SURE YOU DONT WABBLE
If the bushings kinda slips out of the bushing washer and the axals look crooked because of the bushings do I replace?
Imagine telling people your name is crunchie with a straight face. That ‘stache is prob to hide his smile
Hey crunchie, what bushing brand are you using? Are they venom?
When I wiggle my trucks, the bushings make a creaking sound. Is this normal? Do I need to clean or replace them?
Is the thing on top of the bushing a washer ? Or what is that called ?
What trucks are in the video? Paris 43 or paris 50? What cast trucks would you recommend and what tips would you give for bushing set up?
Please do it a video with troy pemberton
