This absolutely has me sobbing. Being a rat lover I get so depressed when I hear people insulting and misunderstanding them on a daily basis saying they are dirty, aggressive and stupid when in fact they are the opposite of all those things. Thank you so much for taking such great care of your little man Toby, he is absolutely adorable! ❤❤❤❤

Rats are the sweetest little chaos potatoes. So affectionate, loving and full of personality. It is incredibly hard to deal with the heartbreak of losing them after such a short time, but just look at Toby snuggling and boggling. So worth it.

The last one of my nine pet rats crossed the rainbow bridge 8 months ago and the heartbreak is still very much there, but whenever someone says I was their whole life and that they had a great mum, it brings a little soothing feeling.

What a perfect Mom!

Rats--esp boy rats--are so chill, gentle, and affectionate! (Girls are sweet too, just much more energetic, active, and restless.)

I use to feel that way too, but then I really missed the interaction & love shared with having pet rats. There’s just too many of them at the pet store’s in need of loving homes. It’s the right combination for me to get another pair. I also have ferrets and they don’t have a long life span either.

Rats are the only animal I have held and/or been around that have never bitten me. .Never!

I had a pet rat when I was in high school, he was the sweetest most loving animal I've ever had! He would follow me everywhere I went, like outside to check the mail, and would stay right next to me, he never ran away outside, so I started taking him for little walks up the street! He would sleep with me, watch tv with me, just like a dog or cat! Very affectionate animals, I would get the sweetest kisses from him constantly. They are very misunderstood and deserve love and kindness just like all living creatures do! I miss him so much. Thank you for showing the world how wonderful rats are, especially as pets. ❤🐀

aren't those teeny little kisses just too much? heart melting. and their cute wee hands holding something 🥺🥺.. Used to have a rat a long time ago, he was so friendly. He'd go wild when he heard or smelled popcorn, and watching him hold one little popcorn and eat with his little hands was so adorable...We often invited him to movie night and he was such a good boy, he'd sit with us for the whole movie and politely eat a few single popcorns. They really are so bright and knowing, they are true family members. If you held him up to your face and said "kiss!' he'd kiss you right on the tip of your nose

My friend had a pet rat named Spike and he was really smart. He actually lived to be five-years old, which is way beyond how long they are supposed to live.

My 3 rats lived 7 years and all three died the same year. Some people don't believe that but it is true. The last one I brought to the vet because he had a horrible abscess on his side and the vet recommended a glass cage instead of the large plastic habitrail I had them all 3 living in. It really didn't matter because I'm sure he had cancer! He was the last of the 3 to pass away😢.

Rats are so loving and smart. My friend had one I would take care of when she was away. I have cats so I kept her largely seperated. How surprised I was when I realized they all just cuddled together like one big family. RIP Ruby.

Try 8 months,that’s how long my mantids usually stay with me,my last one of 2023 passed last February,she was actually around 9 months old,way longer than her species usually lives,even in captivity.

Those boggles, oh my goodness. Such a happy man. Thank you for giving him such a loving home! 💗

The doggy being nice to the rat is a telling sign of how good this lady is with animals

@@mc-bb8pd It is never easy to lose them and it takes months before i even think about getting more. It is actually over a year now and i don't plan on getting any until after summer is over. I always try to be there and hold them in my arms as they take their last breath. They can't seem to get close enough to you and would dig a hole in you if they could get closer. They know something is wrong and they panic but if you hold them they are reassured and it is the best gift you can give them. My last rat i buried in the back yard was such a cuddle bug and would sleep on on my chest for hours if i was watching tv. I'm still not over her and it's been a year. Take care 🙏🙏

I never understood how people think they are filthy as they are only as dirty as the environment you keep them in. I always potty train them the first day i get them and on average it takes 4-10 days at most. Take care and thank you for loving the little 4 legged friends ❤️
