    Thanks for the video, its helping me with my own decision. It's come down to either the LSG 42x20, the Pitts & Spitts 1250. I have friends and family who own one or the other and the debate is worse that Chevy vs Ford lol. But I'm leaning toward the LSG for a few reasons. 1) The removable ignitor box to facilitate cleaning. 2) The ceramic hot air ignition to mitigate the need to replace ignitors. 3) The tested and proven use of wood chips combined with pellets for enhanced smoke flavor without separate wood boxes or smoke tubes. 4) The shorter pellet delivery system which mitigates auger blockages. Keep up the great content!

    @@kwikmechanic that’s mind blowing. The smokiness I get from my Oklahoma Joe’s bronco is really nice (though not as good as my old country pecos) and I get next to nothing from my recteq. Only time I get smoke flavor from my recteq is if I use lumberjack mesquite (which I don’t love, too earthy) pellets and smoke at 200 for at least 6 hours before I bump up the temp. So my mind is slightly blown thinking of a pellet that would produce better smoke flavor than charcoal with wood chunks 🤯 Wizardry

    Do the 8" casters lift the grill up higher than the offroad wheels? seems like the casters are fully underneath the feet and the offroad tire's axle 10"? is close to that so the wheel lift would be closer to 1/2 the tire diameter... I ordered the 8" caster hoping it would lift it 3" over the standard casters. What is the height of the shelf from the ground? ( I am around 6'2 1/2") so I am also concerned about the height... Thanks!

  • @kwikmechanic

    @kwikmechanic

    Жыл бұрын

    I don't know the exact measurements. But the rims are ten inches. Plus the tires. I think they are 13". The Irish package is much taller. The 8 inch careers will be better than the basic ones but the off-road package is by far the tallest. The one downside is turning radius. Very easy to roll over dirt and lawn etc. However, it sucks at maneuverability. The good news is it's fairly light. I usually just pick up the end opposite the pellet hopper and get it lined up. I'm 6 ft 5, and most my friends comment on how tall the grill is. Is. I'll try to grab a measurement to the rack next time I'm in the pit.

    Great observations. On cheaper pellet grills I totally understand. However they have amazing hinges on some of their other smokers. I own a couple other Lone Stars. They are all welded, no penetrations to worry about moisture seepage. For the money these things cost, you would presume they can add a $50 hinge set. I'll probably add it myself, good project for the winter time.
