The convention itself was disappointing, I had a really good time last March. Though the day itself was good for me, spoke to lots of cool people and had fun. Though I was done by 3, it would have been sooner if I wasn’t filming. As I said in the video, there were notable omissions, no idea if this is going to be a continuing trend, as well bearing in mind last July also shrank in size. Thanks for taking the time to comment, cheers!

£24 though I was put off no floor plan shared and no announcements surrounding any companies prompting anything and lack of big guests sent alarm bells. Also no push for a false message around tickets selling out which is something that showmasters did for winter. Hopefully summer will be business as usual. Personally I don't spend £24 just to look at stalls and other paying visitors. I've been going to lfcc for about a decade or so now probably longer.

There didn’t seem to be a time table for the panels where the main stage was which was annoying. It was busy, well busier than I expected, particularly compared to the Friday of July last year. I’m not able to make July this year, I’m curious to see if it returns to its normal size. It did look like maybe the back of the panel space had recently had some building work done there so I’m not sure if that had an impact on the shrunken convention. Thanks for the comment, cheers!

You’re right, £24 doesn’t seem much but costs can escalate quickly, transport, lunch, shopping etc. Budgets can be tight especially in the current climate. I spent a bucket load on getting back and fourth, plus ticket etc.

Seeing so many comments on this and other videos about how much this con sucked, was the first time I went to one and it was really fun

That’s awesome, everyone has different expectations and experiences when they go to conventions. I had a fun time, mostly down to all the great people I spoke to. The convention itself has been even better in the past, hopefully this is just a blip and they’ll improve next time. I saw lots of people having a good time so you’re not alone on having a positive time. So if you’ve enjoyed this one have a look at some of the other offerings out there. Go to the summer one - it will be way bigger and better. Should be even better still when olympia refurb is finished and the con can go back to using the whole space at Olympia.

It’s the same company and venue and still Showmasters buts it’s their flagship event. It’s called the London Film and Comic Con. It runs for three days Friday to Sunday. It’s bigger than the Spring event, normally it’s the arrival hall and the main hall from Spring plus the upstairs, although last year was smaller as they didn’t make use of the arrival hall. They didn’t give any indication of the reduced size in advance last year so it was a bit of a surprise.

Thank you! Didn’t meet any guests it’s not really my thing. Chatted to a bunch of the other attendees and cosplayers though which was fun.

Looks like it was even deader than normal. Showmasters has really been going downhill

It’s was actually pretty busy, I just tried to avoid filming the crowds so you can see the things I’m talking about. I expected it to be much quieter than it was. The event itself was smaller than expected, hopefully this is temporary and will return to normal size in the future.
