in viking culture, "son" was put at the end of a name to make a last name. for instance, Thor's name is Thor Odinson. because he's the son of Odin. Loki's last name is Laufeyson because he was the son of the ice giant Laufey.

i really liked the language! it’s really cool Norwegian made it in MCU!! Russian is my first language, but i live in US, so seeing the Black Widow in theaters here was somewhat similar to what you felt with that Loki episode.

@@penguinaz There have been multiple russian characters on MCU and multiple mentions of russian cities like Moscow.The winter soldier's handlers when he was brainwashed where russian and Sarkovia,the fictional city that got destroyed in age of ultron was inspired in russian cities.Even the name sounds russian.Scarlet Witch is basically russian since she was born in fictional city based on a russian city,even her accent in some of the earlier movies was russian. Russian are not just villains,there have been plenty of movies and series with main characters as russian.Russian is very popular in cinema,it always has been and its culture is well known by the whole world by now,who doesn't know how a russian accent sounds like these days?

I love how she kept refering to the Time Keepers as "Time Lords". This isn't Doctor Who, Natalie!

Anagram of End of File = End of Life. Also, it's almost like when Loki said "You will never be a God" he was talking to himself.

Laufey was the name of the Frost Giant King which makes Loki, in the eyes of the TVA, Son of Laufey or Laufeyson.

I think this is the first time I've seen someone react to the variant Loki reveal with, "Oh, it's not Loki. It's a woman," instead of, "A female Loki!!!"

I've said this multiple times. Your editor deserves recognition, makes this all the more enjoyable to watch.

There's a lot to talk about, but I just want to say that I LOVE Sylvie using "I need a hero" for her intro fight. She's just as dramatic as Loki and she sees herself as the hero!

The set design for Loki is off the scale, absolutely incredible and I love the super bureaucratic TVA compared to how unconventional Loki's ideas are

Mobius and Loki's dynamic is my favourite thing of this whole series I love them

A reset doesn't wipe people's memories it Prunes them and all affected objects in the radius of the branched timeline so they're disintegrated.

Loki was amazing, glad you're watching it! The budget for this show feels like a movie when it comes to the aesthetics.

The score for this show just elevates an already amazing show and that last one shot in episode 3 is crazy! when it ended i literally jumped out of my seat I couldn’t believe they left us hanging like that

It's a testament to Loki's vanity that the one woman he has shown any romantic attraction to is actually just himself.

Loki is a great character especially with an extremely talented Hiddleston

This is only a guess, but maybe the guards are supposed to get in the Ark right before it launches. It would make sense they are getting "paid" with a ticket in exchange of preventing the rabble from boarding.

Tom Hiddleston is one of my favourite actors. I’ve loved him in all his MCU roles, and it’s so great to see Loki finally get to take a main character role.

Finally you're reaction to loki is here. What a beast of a show, I suggest you watch the new rockstars videos because this show has details on EVERYTHING and I love that people simply acknowledge the work of every creative in the show.

I don’t understand how some people still don’t understand how the time traveling works yet. Those who grew up watching Dragonball Z understood this kind of time traveling immediately with the Future Trunks arch.

One thing about the Ms. Minutes info video in the first episode that was a little confusing at first and took me a bit of time to realize is that the Time Keepers do allow for multiple timelines to exist. However, each of these timelines have to follow a path that the Time Keepers have mapped out (The Sacred Timeline). There can be small variances between these timelines as long as those variances don't change the course of history enough to make a timeline veer off of that predetermined path. For example, theoretically a timeline in which Loki was born female could exist and as long as that female Loki lives out her life like the Loki we know from the movies, then the TVA would have no problem with that timeline.

If we say "dog," for instance, we all know it means one of the many races of canines that are very closely related to wolves and more loosely related to most carnivore mammals... "Fish" on the other hand means... Nothing. Is it a boney fish, a fish with scales, does it have skin, how many fins does it have, does it survive in salt or sweet water, both? Do they have lungs or only use gills, maybe both? Can they only swim or can they also fly or walk, do they lay eggs or give birth to live young... The list of different things we call fish is absurdly long. It wouldn't even be like giving everything that flies the same name, honestly if we gave every creature that lives on _land_ a single name, it would still hold more meaning than the word fish, because literally every land dwelling creature (insects, microbes and plants discounted) is more closely related to each other than some things we gladly label "fish" together. Seriously, we humans share more characteristics and are closer related to a penguin than a shark shares with a goldfish.

Phenomenal score, lighting, and set design. This is a show that knew exactly how it wanted to look and sound!

"I'm still confused on the time-traveling stuff." No worries. That won't get more confusing...

"I just want Loki in everything." I have been having that same exact thought for a long time now. I also need to figure out why he gets more and more attractive each time I look at him.

I know right!! When I first watched it I passed and had a mini celebration haha And bi representation is so important since there is so much bi-erasure and biphovia even within the community! That was huge moment (tho it's only been a throwaway line so far; I hope they actually make something of it in season 2! I'd hate for it to be a sadly common "see! Representation" performative moment)

I really have to commend you on how these videos are put together. I've been checking out other reaction videos and apparently it's not as easy as you make it seem. I understand that creators have to skate around the copyright issue and are careful about how much to show. But you make it seem like we're getting a full experience. None of the awkward transitions or reacting to a blank screen I've noticed elsewhere. My appreciation to all involved in making these quality videos.

I suspect that those channels had enough claims against them, that they put the timer up to try and stop claims that aren't completely legitimate.

If you liked this, you should look into the *LEGION* TV show from 2017. It's a masterful show, very weird and insanely good, probably one of the best show around. It's about mutants from the X-Men(ish) (but not really, but it is, but not really), but it's not MCU or related to the X-Men movies, it's its own thing on the side. Beware of spoilers, that show is bonker and mind bending in the best way possible, and has (especially later) the best example of that retro-futuristic esthetic you liked in Loki. Think like the best of Wanda, Loki, Inception, and maybe some twists and turns like Twelves Monkeys or Fight Club sprinkled upon. Strong interesting characters, love story, great esthetics and cinematography, all around one of the best one around. Only 3 shorts seasons, it's not a heavy commitment.

@@urbent3147 You should, it's very very very good. I would advise avoiding any spoilers, especially if you're not that knowledgeable about the comics. Keeping it blind and fresh offers the best experience.

The part in episode 2 where Loki was in the TVA Archives was filmed in the Atlanta Marriott Marquis hotel. Other productions have filmed there like Hunger Games and Manhunter, but more importantly, it's also one of the five host hotels for DragonCon every year. DragonCon is one of the biggest general geek fandom conventions on the east coast and is held ever Labor Day weekend. DragonCon 2021 just finished, and of course there were dozens upon dozens of cosplayers as assorted Loki Variants. And the Oshkosh RenFaire was actually filmed at the Georgia Renaissance Festival on the outskirts of Atlanta.

i just realized, they told Loki, the avengers thing had to happen. But, he, is an avengers consequence too.

The scene with the plane from episode 1 is a real event. Someone calling themselves DB Cooper hijacked a plane and asked for a couple million dollars. They got it and the FBI tracked the plane. At some point during the flight Cooper jumped off and the money floated to the ground but the man disappeared. Nobody knows what happened, but I guess it was Loki

His name is Laufeyson ever since he realised he was the son of the frost giant King, Laufey. Originally he was called Loki Odinson but now knows that isn't his real name. Norse names were not gifted or taken, they were matter-of-fact. If Laufey was his true biological father, Laufeyson is his true name, whether he likes it or not

History Fact: Pompei was never touched by fire or lava. It's too far away from the volcano. It was coated in ash, which is why it's so well preserved. Everything was ash-mummified.

You should watch The Night Manager, Tom Hiddleston being a spy in the illegal arms trade, it's just a short 6 ep limited series, based on one of John Le Carre's novels. It's very good, also stars Huge Laurie, Tom Hollander and Olivia Coleman. People talk about it basically being his audition to play Bond.

Not to mention Journey Into Mystery (the earliest Thor comic series) was one of Marvel’s first. Thor’s been around in comic form longer than Iron Man, the Hulk, or just about anyone.

In Norse mythology, the sons would take the fathers name for their last. Loki only took Odinson when he finally bonded with Thor and accepted his fate.

I watched 'Thor: The Dark World' recently. At that point Loki was directing them toward the engine that powered Asgard's shields, not toward Thor. Did Loki's action lead to Frigga's death? Yes, but no-where near as directly as Mobius makes out.

I'm glad this showed that the people of Pompei were not buried in molten lava, they were covered in volcanic ashes, which did kill them because it was toxic to breathe in. Then they were covered in layers of that ash which came down like falling snow. This had the curious effect of preserving the bodies so they look like mummified remains.

When Loki sees his future, it doesn't say "end of file" until after Thor holds him and the infinity stone blows up the ship. So Loki survived getting his neck snapped and died being held by his brother. oof. happy sad.

if you love tom's acting (duh), please check out his 2016 series the night manager. i would love to see your reaction to that masterpiece!!! he won his first golden globe for that one.

I have to admit.. I've been having a terrible month - probably the most difficult and scary time of my life. Early last month I had a sudden headache and collapsed, fell unconscious and stopped breathing for a period and so far haven't been able to find anything wrong. I've just been so terrified and lonely, and suffering in silence because I dont have people around I feel comfortable breaking down and being that vulnerable around - and the intro of you doing the finger thing honestly made me chuckle and feel just a smidge better!

Mobius is literally my favorite character in the Marvel universe now

I love this show my favorite disney+ marvel show can’t wait for season 2 cannot believe sone people don’t like this show.

Pretty sure Nat was the most upset about Loki than almost anything else in Infinity War+Endgame

I think my favorite line from this show is in that opening intro to the TVA and that one guy says "Please sign here to verify this is everything you've ever said."

Bit of a fun fact about Tom Hiddleston (the actor who played Loki): he's actually fluent in Classical Latin, which helped during the Pompeii scene.
