@@nine9nine9 I wonder if he sat on the idea of suing for a year and when the deadline was looming he gave his lawyers a bunch of notes he'd written and told them to make a claim out of that. Mind you, Coffeezilla did point out some facts about one of Logan Paul's lawyers (attorney for white collar criminal cases) that hint at carelessness (i.e. just in the job for the money and doesn't really care about the law). He'd probably have been more than willing for Paul to write his own statement of claim and just slip in the legal bits as they went.

@@Lady1974M if Paul had to write his own SOC, I would be shocked. That would be extremely embarrassing and unprofessional by the lawyer. It's what lawyers get paid for. Paul definitely had a lot of input and coached a lot of it, with the lawyer understanding that this was an unwinnable case to make Coffee suffer financially, very disappointing tho. Yes, I agree that is what lawyers get paid for but reflecting on Paul's arrogance it wouldn't surprise me if a lot of it was based on notes he'd made and kept every time he felt a little affronted when reading a comment or when someone challenged him on the Cryptozoo refunds. There are some clients like that, no matter how many lawyers on their team.

@@JJ11838ghcftv Reputational damage that is attributed to a very specific statement that was put out with complete disregard for the truth, meaning he has to prove Coffeezilla openly lied about Logan's involvement with crypto scams while knowing it was a lie, and that his reputational damage wasn't caused by the scams themselves. Not as easy to prove as you think, laws in the US are different from Japan and other places. You can't be punished for presenting physical evidence such as text messages and then calling someone a mean name because of them.

Journalism is threatened/dying/dead in the traditional mainstream forms. Daily newspapers, local news programs, cable news, magazines, etc. However, it’s alive in other forms: local weekly Indy papers are still putting out deep dive investigative articles. Good books are being written by journalists. Wire services are still cranking out basic news as they always have. Bellingcat. It won't reach a courtroom but yes. That would be played in court if it came down to it. Logan would be called up to the stand, asked to testify his case by the defense, and then asked "Were you lying then or are you lying now?"

AFAIK coffezilla did make a video on Logan's buy back deal for the crypto zoo victims. And it wasn't a good deal in his opion, which I agree with. People bought these NFTs for 1 ETH each and Logan only gave back 0,1 ETH. And if you take the deal you can no longer sue him for the money you lost. Also the people that bought the zoo coin (crypto currency) get nothing. Btw, he didn't even do this immediately, he did it in january 2024 and that is almost a year after the crypto zoo class action lawsuit was filed against him and the other people involved in february 2023. To me that doesn't look like somebody who "wants to make things right for the victims" and is"taking responsibility/accountability"...

I think I saw San Antonio in the thumbnail. Which means Texas. Logan Is going to have to get over the anti-SLAPP hurdle first. Second even if he gets over that he will have to be under the celebrity standard for defamation. Good luck in getting over that version defamation standards. Discovery will crush him with the messages organizing insider trading re: pre sale of tokens and setting timing and pricing on sales, to prevent a full dump and maximize sales.
