The biggest problem for Logan Paul is that he's had a history of being involved in rugpulls before cryptozoo and then personally set up something which from the outside looks like a rugpull and ultimately ended up being a rugpull, the only reason Logan didn't make any money off the project was because the scammers that he hired chose to scam Logan as well.

Even if they fixed it, many people lost lots of money due to a broken system and those people didn't recover their money. Plus, Coffeezilla is reporting on what he found or what people have come to him with, so it is a logical conclusion and would be hard to prove it's defamation in the US court. Logan would have to sue the witnesses and people who gave Coffee the fuel first

Let's be honest, the person doing the most damage to Logan Paul's reputation ... Is Logan Paul.

Also. Didn't Logan already do an apology video saying coffeezilla was a pro and a good guy. Pretty sure I watched that.

Too many people think that if you have insurance you don't lose anything. Wrong. You lose hundreds if not thousands of dollars per year + you lose lots of time and energy litigating. You still have to go hire a lawyer, talk to them for hours on end, pay them out of your pocket RIGHT NOW... That insurance isn't coming until the case is resolved. And then there's a chance that either your insurance insists you use their discount attorney whose sole goal is to end the case as quickly as possible - or they refuse to fully cover your attorney because he's too expensive in their opinion. There are a lot of potholes and caveats

Waste legal fees? Coffee can probably get a dozen lawyers to work on contingency on this ezpz case. Not to mention the judge is going to SLAPP this sideways. This isn't going to survive a motion to dismiss. The entire lawsuit is extremely broad and just talks generally of the tone of coffee's videos and doesn't quote exact passages of where the defamation occured, how it occured, and why it occured. I paid people back (sorta not really) won't survive a dismissal. Especially when he only sorta not really paid 1/3 of people back. So what? It's 2/3 a scam?

Doesn't Paul understand that as the leader of the project, the one who hired the other people, HE IS ULTIMATELY RESPONSIBLE? This is such a basic concept...

Coffezilla exposed logan Paul & his people got scamming his Fans. Logan literally threatened coffee once before & ended up "Apologizing" on his second channel to coffee. Why sue now is Logan Crazy?

Those “leaked messages” show that Logan was preparing for the rug pull to sell their token before it publicly launched and then discovered he had already been ripped off by the known con artists he hired for this project

Paul says he was adamant about the project being perfect before release, but the project released in a state that barely functioned says otherwise. Also, Paul says there's messages about him wanting the best for the project, but the messages Zilla showed in his video seems to show the opposite. I seem to remember there being messages of Paul arranging that everyone sell at the same time and then getting really mad that someone double crossed them all and sold early screwing them over.

Not quite, they set up rules to "not manipulate the market" but the counter claim to that is that they acquired tokens before the public doing a stealth launch, so that's shady in its own right. Logan actually told them to not sell as cryptozoo wasn't a shit coin, that being said... Those messages feel like a steaming pile of shit as there are such literally masterpieces as "we are making people's wildest dreams a reality" which is a bit of an overstatement just for putting a trunk on a stock image of a panda, and feel... A bit deliberate if I allow my CSI brain a creative license 😅 overall I think the idea was to "eventually" rug pull once enough traction was developed, but he got scammed first. Evidence of this??? When he is furious with crypto king about how the liquidity pool value decreased after "the bot" was toying with the coin... Yeah, not at all what his lawsuit says "he wasn't concerned about the price" or "why do we have to make it go up, why couldn't just be?" Then doing that kind of 180 when... Texas has a 1-year statute of limitations for defamation, and it's a pretty strict limit -- re-publication doesn't extend it and none of the exceptions seem to apply. I wonder how the plaintiff's lawyer managed to get around it?

Unless Logan can prove that the receipts Coffeezilla has are somehow bullshit, I don't see him winning this case.

Just as a trained Journalist, we were required to go through 1st amendment law so the mention of NYT vs Sullivan warmed my heart. Love that most of the people who sue need to prove malice and the facts are indeed not true.

Technically, pointing your phone at the screen and taking a picture of an NFT creates a brand new NFT. The NFT is something like a Bored Ape (just because I don't know the name of any others), and your new NFT is "Picture of a Bored Ape NFT" NFT. It's like that "Artistic" style that photographers do where they spread a bunch of Polaroids or other types of pictures out over a surface and then takes a "super creative and artistic" picture of the photos.

My comment about the Disney fake blue checks (bots) was exactly the point: If you're fake-commenting with sockpuppets on your own site, there is no immunity. Though honestly, I'm not sure what law is being broken (if any) if the comments aren't by themselves defamatory.

Is it detrimental to go on about how famous your client is when you have to overcome anti SLAPP?

The discover is not gonna be good for Logan given the fact that coffee didn't lie about a damn thing & has the documented evidence to back up everything he said. My guess is that Logan’s hoping to annoy Coffee and drain cash (he may not be aware of Coffee’s insurance). I think that he’ll probably file as many motions to delay the trial as possible and prevent Coffee from using anti-SLAPP laws to dismiss it.

So this initial suit or whatever to the court by LP, conveniently leaves out how even the stealth pre launch of the coin was rugged by cryptoking. And to remedy it, they decided to air drop their shares to a brand new coin. Basically blacklisting anyone who happened across their sneaky pre launch.

from what i remember from the videos, Paul came off as a greedy idiot not an outright thief. Paul used is name so he is the captain responsible for what happened. Coffee continued to hold him to his word which i am sure upset him, but i thought coffee gave Paul the benefit of the doubt. Logan: admited he was advised by con-men, which indicates the project was a scam and it was reasonable for coffee to call it "his" scam. logan is the lead of the project so yeah still liable. due diligence is a thing, and yet he hired these people. further, logan apologized to coffee after all video's where published. that's going to be a really hard uphill battle for him. unless you has absolute proof that coffee *knew* for a fact loan did not intend to scam...he's done. basically he needs proof coffee himself said that and ideally it should preclude coffee finding out more and changing his mind.

He's the head of the project! Ignorance isn't a defense and it's reasonable to point the finger at Paul too even if you give hum the benefit of the doubt! A scam is a scam. Coffee is only reporting on testimony and his findings as a journalist. Paul doesn't have a case here.
