i love how much joe cornish cares about the books and takes care of the little details like their ages and the thinking cloth… you can really see it in the show, it was stunning! all the actors were brilliant too!! want a s2!

I'm sorry, I can't stay quiet: There are tons of things which the series took over great but the ages are actually not one of them. That you have to be 13 to become an agent is from the series, in the books that rule doesn't exist. In book 3 (or 4 but I think 3) is stated that Lucy is 15 and as much more time passes between book 1 and 2 than in the series she has to be about 13 or 14 in the first one. Actually it's a bit illogical because in the books she gets her third grade on her eleventh birthday so it seems quite unlikely that she still hasn't got the fourth when her team dies and she joins Lockwood & Co.

@@voi3077 I understand what you're saying, but I imagine the choice to age the characters up was due to practicality. The main cast are in their early 20's. It's not realistic to expect them to pass as much younger than mid to late teens, and since there are so many night shoots it simply wouldn't work with underage actors. Also I imagine it would be difficult to get the kind of nuanced performances the storyline requires from actors even in their late teens playing early teens. I hope you still enjoyed the series. :)

Cameron can portrey so much variety and depth of emotion on the show. It's amazing, considering it is his debut!

spoilert when you realized they have easter eggs on the set, the borneo island from Indonesia (spoiler for lockwood 'secret' room), and how there are 5 rapiers ( 2 more people will join them ), the harp objects, and the lovely talking skull. this is impressive

Cameron did well, I feel like he's real Lockwood!
