    I sang this in an international superiors only four part mens choir the family singers out of Hancock N.Y. and placed second in 2003. one of the most spiritual moments of my life. We almost died when they announced we placed.

    I'm curious, what key? Do you drop it an octave to be in the "meat" of your voice, keep the octave, or go for a key somewhere in the middle?

    Frank bianchi directed my regional chorus last year and he’s honestly the best director that I’ve ever had. So genuinely kind and smart, he made our concert sound so amazing

    I've known this song for a long time. We've learned it in our English class(in non-English speaking country, obviously). We've never been taught about the story behind it.     A MOST TOUCHING PERFORMANCE. I DID NOT KNOW THAT IT WAS A CLASSIC PIECE BY RALPH VAUGHN WILLIAMS. I AM NOT ASHAMED TO THAT I GREW UP WITH THE BENNY GOODMAN / MARTHA TILTON VERSION THEREOF. A GREAT SWING BAND PLAYING THIS PIECE WILL TOUCH YOU. CLASSICAL COMPOSERS WROTE PIECES FOR GOODMAN. BELA BARTOK WAS ONE OF THEM.

    The end is supposed to be a solemn march... the song is about a brother sending his dead brother back to Scotland after a war battle. It’s a pride march. Not a dance party 🤦🏻‍♀️
