The nice garden with just a bit of a slant would’ve been a great play space for the kids. Also the garage could’ve been converted eventually into a another bedroom. Also could be useful as an office space. The youngest child is only three years old so a small bedroom wouldn’t be, problem for at least three or four years. Plus, it was under budget on a really quiet street. Plus, the living room would serve well as an office space since the door closed. The open plan kitchen dining room was quite quite large, I think big enough for big families and their relatives. It seems like there was something else blocking a purchase for them. I’m not sure, hesitation, spending this much money and wanting it to be perfect. I think they had trouble envisioning how a house might be changed or expanded in order to accommodate what they were looking for

It doesn't need to be perfect but my goodness, put away the clutter and clothes and clear up the bathroom counter tops! Also, do people in the UK ever actually park their cars in the garage? I have watched numerous episodes of this program and I do not think I have ever seen a car IN the garage! (That couple with the three daughters were doing my head in! Poor Phil)

But you could have seperated the entrance from the garage and you would have had a seperate large storage/ office space or a garage to park your car and keep all the gear with an entrance corridor (long and narrow though ....) Not too bad for a house at that price ..... (199.000) And the bedrooms with balcony/ large window with the view into the lush greenery was quite nice. Now they only have a cemented small space in front of the house to sit and wave at the cars passing by ;-)))))

I do wonder why there is no parameter set for outdoor area during the initial interview, when so much else -- such as number of bedrooms, living space layout, and budget -- is defined. The couple with three children might have realized at the outset what they would come to realize in the end: they would be willing to compromise on size and number of bedrooms for a "child-friendly" garden.

I cook lovely healthy food at lunch time for myself and don’t need to pack a cold sad lunch or fork out money to buy one. I’m really not sure where the added cost comes in?
