@@gsusan11 Some of the illegal harassment that occurred during the 2020 election wasn’t enforced either. I remember seeing several cases of journalists easily, very easily, tracking the offenders down, and even handed over the evidence to authorities and…nothing was done.

I very much doubt that harassments and threats are against "...local officials, Democrat and Republican alike..." is anywhere near equal. We all know which party thinks this kind of behavior is acceptable and legal.

People pooh-pooh the Civil Rights workers who protested segregation on buses like Rosa Parks, those who protested at lunch counters and those hit by fire houses, as not doing much; it would have changed anyway. But those people were trained to deal with hostile counter-actions by the public as well as by public agents and their actions did change the country for the better. The problem today is that poll workers and the like haven't been trained to deal with fascist tactics and similar stuff by agents working for a political party and its causes. This video starts with someone calling books "pornographic" and wanting to ban them from school libraries. Again, good people haven't been trained how to deal with McCarthyism-style actions, and attack back saying "We don't ban books in America; you're wrong and anti-American to want to. And we're not going to waste time defending every book you might mention, when educators have already evaluated them for their merits."

Sounds like Jim Crow to me. This is why many (not all) deep in that movement don't want African American history taught. Citizens won't be able to see how the ideological inheritors of that bigotry are using the same play book of intimidation to silence the next wave of change they are afraid of.
