You just came in my feed, so I’m looking at your video now and your hair is Budding which is starting the locing process. It is the shedded hair that forms the loc; so that is what is bulking/fattening the hair shaft. I would recommend not wetting and misting daily for fine hair. Leave your hair alone for a few days at-a-time. Wash frequently and less misting is better. Don’t stress!💚

i started my locs 6/26/22 but had a psychotic break and had them combed out at around 4 months i was mentally unstable & wasn’t able to take care of hair during that time. Now in may 2023 i started again and my mom hates them bc it reminds her of that time, but i truly fell in love with my hair for the first time and its hard to push through bc im basically my own supporter.

For stress I also take the Ashwagandha. But by far the thing that relieves anxiety and increases peace in my life is my faith. I pray to God, read the Bible, and strive to apply what I have learned in my life. When I decreased the unreasonable expectations I placed on myself my stress level also went down. I realized that no matter how hard I try I am not super woman and I can not control nor handle everything that comes my way ALONE. But I am a women that can do everything through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13) Also when I acknowledged that worrying is a tactic of the devil and actually serves no true purpose, I made a conscious effort to take my problems to the lord and leave it there, he is literally telling us to in Matthew 11. Just by looking at your videos, you seem like a practical smart lady. I believe that if you think about anxiety this way you will weaken it’s hold on you instead of strength it. I will also leave you with this, “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭33‬-‭34‬ ‭NLT‬‬ God bless

You are so amazing and thoughtful, I needed that 🥰 thank you so much! Crazy you mentioned about thinking of the cause of my anxiety. I have been doing that so much more often. When I feel the butterflies in my stomach I think about what's making me react that way. I'm easily triggered by anxiety every since I was a child. Having kids made it more intense 😅. Thank you for the kind words and advice. They helped so much ☺️🫶🏾✨

Hey 👋🏾 I’ve got scarring alopecia so for the areas that have inflammation, I interlock those locs. About 5 of them. It’s really helped because I saw that retwisting was causing thinning. I’m so glad I caught it early to prevent anything popping off. You might want to look into it. And btw, your hair is gorgeous 😊

You're so right! I have been crocheting mine together and it's been a huge help. Alopecia heads like us need a little added security to our hair so nothing pops off 🔒 I'm making a video to speak about that actually!

I suffer from alopecia so my temporal area and the nape of my neck are delicate areas for me. However, my loctician does her thing each and every time I go see her. At some point, I want to maintain my own hair but this first year I’m gonna be lazy while learning if you will. This is my second journey. I should be going into year two in October but my first set weren’t progressing like I thought they should’ve been so I cut them. 😢 Loving this new journey and all it has brought along with it so far. This is my fifth month on the 28th and they’re already doing a little shaking which I ❤. Be blessed, stay focused and I’ll be waiting for your next video.

I am only six weeks into this journey and I plan on buying hair jewelry once my hair is fully locked but only two pieces. I started my journey due to an illness, I am not able to maintain my hair as before and I live in TX, it is HOT here, so I didn't want to have to wear wigs all the time. My hair is waist length, when I started this journey and I cannot believe how much it shrunk, up to the top of my shoulders lol! But that is ok, I know it will drop back down later, good luck on your journey and my hair is 4c and very fine but I love it, it's what God gave me.

Congratulations on 6 weeks! What type of loc jewelry will you get? Shrinkage is so disrespectful! Waist length to shoulder!?!? Hair is so amazing and locs are so unpredictable 🤣. As for living in TX I couldn't imagine the heat you must get! Keep on keeping on and I hope things get better for you 🙏🏾✨

Right now I like the fresh retwist look because my hair is short. I have scarring alopecia and I use an ointment when my scalp starts to itch and burn. I also wash my hair with medicated shampoo. I am 2 months in my journey. I actually like to say Locs because I don’t care for the word dread. Thats how I feel about it. You did a great job on your hair. I am going to a loctician now but I am going to try doing it myself when my locs start to form.

Hey girl -- your locs look amazing!!! Because of my hair texture, my Braidlocs unraveled constantly the first 5mths😣 I finally got frustrated enough to crochet them one weekend and they STILL unraveled anytime my hair got wet! My last resort was to go back and interlock ALL the loose hair and I haven't had anymore major issues🤗 Most of the ends are still curly but I can live with that...

Yes, I may have to interlock my locs in the back, they will not stay together. I started my journey six weeks ago and I can see a few budding going on. I did my first retwist last week at five weeks and I have shampooed my hair twice, once with a wig cap and once I braided my hair, the braiding of my hair was hard to undo once I finished shampooing. I decided to l am going to leave my ends curly although some of the ends are locked

Mine split like that and I believe it’s because the hair is fine. When wet, it comes apart. I just un-did the loc with my fingers when semi-dry and gently re-coiled those locs until it buds.🤷🏽‍♀️
