Those two motorcycle cops were a cameo! There was a show called "CHiPs" which stands for California Highway Patrol. It was a great show from the late 70s to the mid 80s, running 6 seasons. So not naming the first of a comedy movie "1" was always a missed opportunity to me that I had thought about before. Then this movie does it but then makes no sequels! 😭 What a rip off!! 😭

An amazing riff on the Lethal Weapon movies. With Charlie Sheen (Emilio Estevez's brother) in just a random car valet role begging for cash cracks me up every time. The main characters are named Colt and Luger, historical gun manufacturers (Cold made the 1911 the US military used for more than 70 years, and Luger made the primary German military handgun from 1900 to the 70s). The motorcycle cops at the hotel shootout were played by Erik Estrada and Larry Wilcox, stars of the 1970s-80s motorcycle cop tv drama CHiPs.

This is one of my favourites from the genre of 80s & 90s comedy spoofs, and one of the best under the National Lampoon label (beaten only by some of the Vacation films), with some great cameos too.

Colt and Luger are the names of two VERY famous gun designers. If not by name then certainly by sight you should recognize the Colt Single Action Army revolver and later from the company the Colt 1911 pistol and from Luger the Luger Pistole Parabellum aka the Luger 9mm. All 3 guns are incredibly famous and can be seen in enormous numbers of movies, TV shows, comic books, video games, and you know, gun stores with numerous companies still making versions of both the SAA and the 1911 to this day.

I only looked for reactions to this movie recently, I think you guys are the first. I love this movie so much, definitely one of the best spoof movies :) That "I'm just taking a shit" scene is one of my favourite antijokes (in case anyone's not seen Lethal weapon 2, which it's parodying, Riggs arrives after Murtaugh hasn't checked in with work, and finds him stuck on the toilet with a bomb under it) what a great way to subvert expectations. Brilliant stuff.

This movie is funnier now than in the nineties. A sequel would've been great. Great reaction as always guys.

26:33 Agreed! The best, the most clever spoof movie of all times And one of the most underrated movies It seemed that OK haven't seen Basic Instinct? And the scene with legs caressing a leg under the kitchen table, is from Lethal Weapon - as well as the scene where Luger is sitting on the toilet (originally there was a bomb under the toilet seat).

One of the most overlooked things about the Bruce Willis Cameo is that he was offered the role of Martin Riggs in Lethal Weapon, but took the John McClane role in Die Hard instead (Coincidentally, Mel Gibson was offered the role of John McClane).

I laughed a lot when you say you expect to watch part 2 as this was named part 1, but it was a joke (one more) to put the "1" in the title to mock the so many sequels in these kind of action movies. 😄 Also my belly hurt a lot with the jokes in this movie, but the one that made me cry of laughter was when out of nowhere Cold is seen chasing Tim Curry holding a teddy bear, so absurd an totally unexpected! 🤣

The guy who played Leecher (Hannibal spoof), is a great actor. F. Murray Abraham. Another few movies he has roles in you two might want to check out are Surviving the Game, Mimic(recommend the director's cut), and Thirteen Ghosts.

I LOVE the Loaded Weapon franchise ( of course where there is only the first one lmao!). Great funny movie that you can always watch alongside a couple of beers and maybe something stronger with your friends and laugh your freaking ass off! The cast here is amazing as well! So many "serious" actors hahahahaa.... The amount of detail as well is insane. You can watch this movie five times and you'll still find new things you missed on the 6th.

Fakin' Da Funk, the asian dude from Hook that played Rufio, mistakingly gets adopted by a black family at birth. So he thinks he's black hence the title. John Witherspoon from Friday, Pam from Martin, Ashley from Fresh Prince of Belair, Margaret Cho Stand up Comedian, and the Rapper that was in Ace Ventura as that cop he was interrogating with his ass. This movie is funny and stacked with good actors.

Wow! Thanks guys for this movie. Such a great blast from the past! I agree with other comments, you should watch the comedy Men at Work (Emilio Estevez & Charlie Sheen). On the otherhand, for an intense thriller, watch Judgement Night (Emilio Estevez, Cuba Gooding Jr & Dennis Leary).
