Freeride longboarders are park kids look like uninformed chodes. Lol

I ride all kinds of boards. Surf,snow, and street of all types. I respect all different types of styles and tricks. I think there shouldn't be any hate on any one who rides a board of any type or style. kick flips are fun on long boards, it all just depends on the style and how you approach the trick. Respect all people who ride a board, Peace.

Look okay this is the perfect opportunity to voice my opinion, I street skate, I longboard and you know what I love them both, street skaters hate on longboarders so much some of them just like bigger boards and what he is doing is freestyle like what Mullen did when he invented all his legendary flatground tricks like the ollie and kickflip, he didnt do them on a popsicle deck, no he did them on a big ass 80's deck which is about the width of most longboards, we all ride boards stop hating

juan chavez Actually Rodney Mullen did invent the Ollie. The difference is it was a flat-ground ollie to Gelfands vert ollie. There is a difference but I will concede that Mullen tweaked Gelfands idea but without Mullen we wouldn't have the kick-flip amongst a HUGE range of other tricks...

So far I’ve been lucky with bringing my longboard to the skatepark, I’ve actually had people impressed that I was trying tricks on a longboard

Probably because he's not doing it like the skateboard kickflip...He's doing it in a strange easier way and I want to see him do it the skateboard way because if you learn it it's a lot more consistent and just looks cooler I had a really hard time learning it on a longboard but it looks amazing and I jump way higher than him that way

I gotta say, this is my favorite trick-tip of all time. You really went over all of the possible things that would go wrong and did a fantastic job on explaining how to solve each problem and do the trick correctly.

I only learned to the part of throwing my board :'(

I ride trick board, but man. This was just plain interesting to watch. Never owned a longboard, though I stayed for the whole video. This guy is very skillful, thorough with his explanations

hey. i have a dervis sama and i like it. its a super nice carving/ crusing board and the nose and tail are good for tricks now (in comparison to almost flat ones at dervish)

What's with all the hate? Why are people against learning new tricks on longboards? I think it is pretty impressive to do these kinds of tricks on a board that wasn't made especially for them. This was a great tutorial and much better than other ones I'm finding. Can people not learn to do kickflips on skateboards and longboards?

you can do shuvits for sure... you just need a small nose to do a noly shuvit. if you have 4 or 5 inches on your pintail, you can do a kickflip also. just start with your ollies!!! keep shredding!

in skateboarding the board has a steep nose and deep concave so you have to flick your foot out in that little "pocket" or crevice of the beginning of the curve of the nose. so in longboarding, the flick has to be done on the flat/dead part of the edge of the board. thats why he had to kick the board down instead of flick out.

start with some close-to-the-ground tricks, like a shuvit (or however you spell it). it's not really relevant for kickflips but I find it easier to learn

@dvs2751 it depends on the board. one like this is or the freeride, tan tien, or any board with a tail that curvs up can also. It's just different tricks from the skateboard.if it has no tail like the pintail then no its not.
