As an architect, I might have chosen some different materials/finishes (subjective, personal choices) but I am blown away by the thought and craftsmanship of your infrastructure. If my plumbing and electrical were that nice, I would have left them exposed for everyone to see.
Agree with other posts....the build is so well planned and the follow through is precise and functional And then there is the laconic humor... As an owner of an LMTV I am on the verge of envy at his rig until realizing that his sweat equity and intellect simply surpass my abilities. Congratulations on such a monumental accomplishment.

After googling laconic, thank you. ;)
I feel more manly just watching this video. Nice rig Chad
i'll go back to one of my comments when i first started following you near the beginning, your channel should already be a lot bigger then it is. you do a great job on the building, your sense of humor and editing.
What a great job you both did on this 'mobile platform'! This is no doubt a never-ending, always finding ways to improve project. I've very much enjoyed watching. Thanks..
Great looking truck. One thing Ive seen for the shower is a recirculating system just keep reusing the water and filter it between showers.
Amazing build, hope to be able to travel this summer…
Looks great Chad, your craftsmanship is top notch.
That's about the exact roof rack setup I'm wanting to do looks good
What an awesome, well thought out rig conversion!!! Functional, serviceable and most important enjoyable! Thanks for sharing & the great content. Im converting a different older military vehicle & really appreciate your efforts. Just subscribed & looking forward to catching up with your content. Totally enjoy your handiwork!!! BTW.....I'm lovin that paper towel holder!!!! Happy & safe travels!
Rig is looking good
That rig is badass sir. Keep it up
This thing is awesome 👏
Absolutely wonderful! It's one of the best builds I've seen. You're a true craftsman.
Rad build Chad & Michelle. Was stoked when I stumbled across your channel and build. Dustin from Ballard.
It's official! You uploaded more LMTV videos than me this year. I think I made a couple and dropped off the face of the planet for the last 3 months. No projects in the works for my near future. KZread has gotten ridiculously competitive.... Great walkthrough. Glad you have finished up your build. Turned out super nice...

Michelle and I were just talking about your absence from the platform today. We figured the day job got slammed you with work. I still have a few more project in the works but we’ve actually been just out using the truck a fair bit so I haven’t filmed much.

Me too. We went camping last weekend and I managed to drift the truck for about 200 yards down a hill on black ice. Would have been nice to catch that on camera.

@BrokeOverLand reminds me of the slimy muddy 30 degree hill we slid down early on in our adventures. I thought for sure we would lose our truck. Never again.
Amazing build!
Great video. After five years of building I hope you can spend more time traveling.
I think you should be commend for what you have accomplished on this build. Well done !👍
Nice job.
Been a while.I was already worried😅 Nice ti finally get some updates😊
Veramente un bel mezzo, dall'animo avventuroso e affascinante. 👍
Great Truck, what a result. Wow
I've currently just started my build and am curious what cab seats you have installed. Great content. Keep it up!
Nice jammies dude. Happy new year.
Wow nice build.
Good build
Great content. Thanks
I live for your bloopers at the end... LMAO! Happy New Year!

Happy new year! More to come.
WHAT A GREAT VID. OUTSATNDING JOB.
I had one like this in Germany (Steyr 1218). You get very far offroad. But be careful: When you get stuck, there will be no one around to pull you out. (It did happen to me...) 😜
On the smelly toilet issue, in Europe we use a German made extraction fan, called a SOG. It turns on when you open the blade and stops w hen you close it. All top of the range RVs have it as standard, but you can buy one for you Thetford toilet for around £250 /$300 and you don’t ever need chemicals again.

Good callout. I’ll look into the SOG.
Nice truck , well thought out , tons of work . yeah the arctic tern windows reversed , i thought of also. But , the sun shines down and reversed they don't provide much help , unless closed all the way. If you contact Maxxair , they will send you a new board ez peezy install , and might be covered under warranty. The deluxe model 7500k , is a much better choice then the 4500k ✌
Is the Student Driver bumper sticker on the back for when Sky is driving the truck? Congrats on "completing" the build!
Stellar
Great wrap up to a first rate project! So, what’s next?

Next is to get out there and use it.
I've watched your videos and I love the work and attention to detail you did. I only wondered why you did not use the 6X6 as your base.and the pass thru is so small, but I love it. I'd like to see a M1070 convered with a walk thru. {Just my dream machine). Lee in Chgo.
I'd like to make my own camper and most difficult choice is which toilet to pick. Could you do a vid on it ?
Wow! This is serious expedition vehicle, really well thought out. Will it make it up to Yellowknife, NWT on Great Slave Lake? How much is your total investment in it? How many did Stewart & Stevenson build?
Would like to see the Magnetic Panels being taken off so I can see how you made them. Magnetic Panels are a Brillant Idea.
Great to see how everything came out. Congratulations on a beast of a build.🛠🦍💪👍 Also kudos on your next level transitions, editing, cuts, and b-roll. 🎞 🎬 🎥 📺 🌊 Great job on the whole Fluxcapasitor set up. It reminds me of how Germans do their wiring. 😮😊 What's your favorite part of your rig?
Great job! I'm surprised you don't have more subscribers.

I haven’t really promote the channel other than a sign on the side of the truck. I just like making videos and puttering around the shop. But I am happy you enjoy the videos.
Awesome ladder. Did you made a video on it ?
Great job. It has been fantastic to follow you through the build. What's the next adventure?

We’ve been hitting some local areas shaking the truck down and will be doing some longer trips this summer.
I have been looking for insurance for an LMTV or Unimog and cannot find a company who covers them. Who do you get insurance from? Do you self-insure? Thanks in advance. That is one bad-ass build. Can't wait to see it in action in the wild.
Great build!! I have been following for the last few years and always look forward to your videos 🙂 Are you going to be at Overland Expo PNW this year?
@BrokeOverLand

I think we are going to be on the east coast about the same time as the 2024 overland expo PNW
Thank you, love your content and the bloopers at the end are great. I just acquired a 97 LMTV that someone started parting out. It is missing the Turbo, turbo boost tube as well as other key components. Would you have suggestions on part Suppliers and LMTV resellers to use. Preferably in the PNW as I live in southern oregon. Thanks for your time. P.S. An ambulance build would be awesome.

The LMTV Facebook page has been the best source for parts as most of the parts dealers are on there as well as small sellers.

I think a lot of school busses have the same motor as well . Might be an avenue for some things.
I have a question Chad. Where do you get the matching pajamas and sheets:)
Well thought out build. Questions: who made the box, what's the interior standing height, and did you relocate the spare just for the sake of the pass through?
@BrokeOverLand
3 ай бұрын
Thank you, the box frame and skin where assembled by Steve at traxoffgrid.com/ Standing height in the kitchen is 6 foot 8 inches. Overall exterior height of the truck is 12’ 3” Yes I relocated the spare to accommodate the pass through and free up a space for a generator… someday.

@@BrokeOverLand Great info, thank you. I'm 6'6" and had to build my own custom super roof for my sprinter van. After living in it full time for a year and a half, I'm starting to eyeball the things that might come next, so your response is helpful.
Very nice! The only thing I have to ask is knowing now would you do it all again?
@BrokeOverLand
4 ай бұрын
Yes I would do it all again. It’s been a fun project. I want to do an ambulance build but Michelle said she would hate to have to find a place to burry my body if I did. So that’s off the table… for now.
I was waiting for you to demostrate the table retracting, but you didntshow that.😢
Where did you get your cushions made ?

I got them from CustomCushions.com
So you said nobody cares about the paper towel holder but I need one, where did you get it?

I got it off Amazon. amzn.to/3TQpwKM
Giving me hope that someday I might actually finish mine… some day
