LMS Black 5 44871 takes on the 1 in 37 Lickey Incline with the Worcester steam Express 06/04/24 - 4K
I started out at 11am and went to a foot crossing in Droitwich but had to rush to a nearby bridge because the crossing was closed and I waited 20 minutes before I saw the black 5 come in the distance from Droitwich spa station to the bridge I was standing on.
After the bridge I got back to the car to try and catch the black 5 on the ECS to Gloucester at Ashchurch for Tewksbury and I made it with 10 minutes to spare and 44871 cam through the Station at speed.
Then after ashchurch I waited 2 hours to see the Black 5 absolutely thunder the Lickey incline.
It was great to see @LiamsLocos @blackcountrysteamvideos8021 @Tobys_Trains @GreatBritishRailways1 @crunchynutsteamfilms5043 @JakeBSteam.

Fair enough it was so good at the Lickey incline it was worth standing there for 2 hours

Cheers mate. It was nice to catch up with you as well. I made it to ashchurch with 10 minutes to spare which was great. I’ll probably see you next week at Viago when they do the double header.

Yes I saw that loco twice at the junction and on the return I saw the 47 at the back getting ready to try and push her up the incline

@@James_Trainsyep and that’s the third time seeing that loco but for the first time this year for a steam hauled tour to ever come down through stoke works
It’s coming back here again next weekend on the 13th and 14th of April this time with another black 5 possibly 45407
