Round 3 of the HSR/ IMSA Prototype Challenge at Watkins Glen International. Le Mans Prototypes (LMP3s) against each other on the world-renowned twisting, turning 3.4-mile ribbon of asphalt that is known as "the Glen".
Pro-Am Class
Saturday morning: from the start the No. 25 team controlled the race, as Koreiba built a comfortable lead from the pole. Although the winners fell out of the lead as the team made their mandatory pit stop, the No. 25 cycled back to the front and was never challenged on track for the top position. Koreiba and French currently lead the Pro-Am class championship.
Second overall and in Pro-Am went to John Reisman and Eric Curran in the No. 74 Hudson Historics Ligier JS P320, although they were unable to challenge No. 25 for the lead, the Team executed a flawless race and came home with a solid result. Third in Pro-Am and fourth overall honors went to Bob Neapole and Guy Cosmo in the No. 47 Optivations Ligier JS P320.
Am-class
Third overall and the Am-class victory went to Tim Day Jr and Wyatt Foster in the No. 8 Peirce AutoSport Ligier JS P3. Both Day and Foster pushed hard during the race setting personal bests. The focused effort paid off for Foster as he charged forward during his stint out pacing the leaders and setting the fastest lap of the race at 1:41.451 on lap 31.
Second place Am-class honors went to Tobias Lutke and Travis Hill in the No. 22 TWOth Autosport Ligier JS P3. The TWOth Team and Drivers continue to improve each weekend in their first season in the LMP3 car, and its drivers welcomed the competition at the Watkins Glen, they continue to lead the Am-class championship points.
