Llandegla Trail Centre MTB | What goes up must come down!

Спорт

Llandegla is quite a tame trail centre which lends itself perfectly to beginner - Intermediate riders. We take a look at the Red and Black route as well as other sections. Is it for you? Find out here......
The facilities at this trail centre are incredible with an amazing cafe and bike shop. Not to mention the pure beauty of North Wales and the forest itself. But i'm afraid thats where the compliments end from me as the trails failed to deliver anything technical what so ever, with a general lack of flow and maintenance.
Don't get me wrong, Any day on the bike is a good day but i just struggled to get excited whilst riding these trails. If you're looking for a cardio workout or you're new to mountain biking then Llandegla is well worth a look. But if you're an experienced rider looking for a challenge then you might want to give this one a swerve.
The trails on offer are a Blue,Red and Black routes with a Skills area to warm up on or session to improve skills which is quite fun, This can be found next to the car park.

Great review. You probably should have gone there before the bike parks! I live less than an hour away and used to go all the time when I got back into riding about 13 years ago. Used to love it. Then I went to Morzine and rode some actual black trails and not long after that we had Revs and Stiniog open up which aren't much further. Hardly ever go now. If I do it's with people who don't really ride. They do night riding with lights to rent on Wednesday which I quite fancy doing some time. If you can't think of anywhere else to go then overall it is a nice facility and you'll have a great workout but don't expect to be blown away by any of the descents. The food is amazing and the skills areas near the shop are worth a few hours just chilling and dicking around on if you don't have to travel too far.

Rode it today for the first time I found overall it was ok some really fun sections on the black but seemed like loads of pointless climbing for very little downhill in some sections , i found it got a bit tedious by the end Was totally frozen today and frosty so the scenery was amazing and that helped For me I'd go again but miss a few sections out

Perfect video, exactly what I was looking for. To confirm - the black is not really black (no unavoidable tech features etc)? I am looking for somewhere to push a friend's skill level workout scaring her away from MTB and the blue looks a bit dull but the red looks like fun without being intimidating. Is that right? Thanks

A spot on review of the trail centre. I live about 5 miles away and ride there only once or twice a year when friends who live further afield insist on getting shown around. For local rides we normally head out onto the moors around Llangollen or the Berwyns. Llandegla gets a bit more fun on an EMTB but I'd still rather drive over to Snowdonia, the Peak district or the Lakes for some 'proper' MTB'ing.

I think if you're talking about the trail centres then you've got a valid point. However, less than half hour from here you have revolution bike park which has more features than you could handle. I do agree with you though, most trail centres aren't that great from what i've come across. Especially for more experienced riders. I can't help but think as soon as forestry commissions / councils get involved there is a ridiculous about of hurdles to jump through to make it 'safe'. Privately owned UK bike parks or French Parks is where it's at!

I think that review was really misleading. You said the free ride section was flat - but there’s clearly a load of table tops that you didn’t even clear. Plus looks like you missed loads of the really good jumps and drops sections off at the very top of the black. Love your videos but can’t understand how you’d give Dalby a good review (miles and miles of pointless red stuff) and only half explore this place.

  • @MtbTrailHub

Sorry to disappoint, I struggled to clear the jumps on freeride because it was so flat. A section of the trail was closed for maintenance during this ride which must be the parts you are refering too. which i had to miss out.(my bad, should have put that in the video) Don't get me wrong, i think it's a good trail centre and would be good for certain riders. All i can do is give my honest opinions, But from what i rode that day i wasn't overly impressed.
